This place has changed ownership and names many times the last 18-20 years. Based on my latest visit I would say it is a tired looking place inside. There was one woman working the phone, order preparation and payment while one man did the cooking. Talk about a small team. I felt bad for the woman who was literally arguing with customers at one point about their orders and then hastily scurrying around trying to assemble orders correctly. I ordered a lunch special - shrimp in lobster sauce with fried white rice. To be honest, it was a dish I had never tried before, and I wish I could say something more positive. Unfortunately, the presentation was quite off-putting, which was disappointing. I decided to taste it regardless, and it didn't taste much better than it looked. I might consider giving it another chance with a different dish, but not anytime soon. On a positive note, the woman who took my order was very nice, so I'm giving an extra star for her service.
I ordered the chicken with garlic sauce and General Tso chicken from Garden Chinese and ended up paying $33. When I checked my receipt, I noticed they charged $13 for each dish, plus an extra $3 for fried rice on both, which I never asked for. Be sure to double-check the menu and your bill before paying. I won't be returning. To make matters worse, the food was spicier than I requested, despite asking for mild.
I called to place an order. I told the woman that I need it delivered, since I don't have my car with me. She said, the purchase must be $30 or more, for the good to be delivered. I said fine, I'll place the order, and if it's not $30, I can add to it. She kept repeating the same thing over and over and over, like it was the only English she spoke. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING. The first visit to this restaurant was just okay, but this time was not good at all. The quality has gone down and the prices have decreased as well. I don't think I will be returning, as it was a disappointing experience.
