As a starter, I got oysters and escargots. Oyster were just perfect! Escargots were missing salt. By chance the mixologist brings me a fantastic Old Fashion (Maker's Mark 46)! This girl knows what she is doing! And to verify it, I ordered a Cosmopolitan (u'luvka Polish Vodka): Again 100% score! But honestly I was sure of it. The crazy balance of my Old Fashion could not be done by chance.I decided to continue with a Steak Diane. Cooked at the table. Such a great experience ! Cooked at the perfection. Excellent service from the time we entered until the moment we left! Our server was quick and thoughtful, and gave us just the right amount of attention so that we could enjoy our meal and conversation in peace, but never felt like we were waiting. Very nice ambiance -- dimly lit, high ceilings, live music (piano & guitar), mix of tables and booths allows for private conversations and intimacy, good air-flow and delicious scents coming from the kitchen. Great spot for a special occasion!
This was one of many memorable experiences on our recent visit to the city of Toronto and Ontario Province. The service was first class. Michael was our waiter and he prepared the salad at our table. He made several good suggestions pairing wines with our entree selections.The restaurant is housed in a beautiful multi-storied room that surrounds the guests with warm wood panels and soft lighting.The food was delicious and beautifully presented. I make an annual visit in conjunction with a convention. After ordering a 'Dunkin' shaved beef sandwich, I can settle in with a great glass of Saltram Barossa Valley Shiraz. Both Carol (server) and Mike (bartender) serve up drinks with speed and accuracy that is the envy of rest of the Toronto bar community. AMAZING! From the food, to the ambiance and the service, everything was amazing!! The Gorgonzola Filet Mignon was out of this world and our server went above and beyond to make our evening special.The manager (I cant remember her name but it was a blonde, tall, slim lady) also stopped by to make sure everything was great.I will make sure I pass this wonderful experience to all my friends/family and guests.
We had a ladies' night out for my birthday celebration. The food was excellent, and the caesar salad was made from scratch at our table, which was impressive. Our server Steve gave us the best service and was very pleasant. We had a great time, and also enjoyed the wonderful atmosphere created by the elegant interiors and the courtesy of the servers. Highly recommend this place!
How wonderful to have some traditional silver service dishes on the menu.We started with the Caesar salad, made at the table and it was sublime.My husband and I shared the bone in rib eye steak served with chips and béarnaise sauce.It was mouth-wateringly good.Sylvia was our waitress and the service could not be faulted.It is a definite one not to be missed.
While I felt like I was in a dark, English library - the food and service was fantastic. The spinach salad is a must. And the folks that ordered seafood seemed to be as happy as those that ordered steak. Skip the sides, it's not Ruth Chris, you get plenty with the meal - except for the onion rings, those are a must. We ate in this steak house and had the chateaubriand a lovely piece of beef very al dente vegetables, excellent customer service. Didn't overdo the is everything OK? The waiter gave us a list of restaurants etc to visit in Toronto and Montreal which he wrote down for us and advised which were the best value etc
