This is one of the top restaurants in the city. By the best italian place within the City of Victoria. Food: Portion sizes are large and fair for the pricing. Food is made fresh in-house, and the seafood doesn't taste fishy at all. Even the shellfish wasn't bad, and I am not a shellfish person generally. Atmosphere and table: It is a very small restaurant but It's an open concept which makes it feel very spacious. There are no booths within. There are only tables and chairs. During the summertime, they have a very nice patio. Service: Service is excellent as you would expect in fine dining. The only con on this aspect is the popularity of the restaurant on the same day? Reservations are hard...
Great experience here last night. While Spaghetti and meatballs isn't on the menu, they obliged and I am so thankful. Absolutely delicious! Loved that the sauce was meaty as well. My wife had the basil pesto gnocchi, and this was also fantastic, although I would struggle to eat it all because it packed such a punch of flavour. The house wine is great, much better than the usual house wine you get elsewhere. The antipasto platter is an amazing presentation, as well. Excellent service.
One of the ugliest buildings from the outside, but inside is a different story. A nice layout of tables and spacious. We sat at the bar and enjoyed quality mixed meat and pickle antipasto for two. Then linguini with clams and walnut canaloni . Great wine and coffee. Not the cheapest but very good quality food and the staff where exceptionally alert and helpful. Well worth a try .
Just a short step from our Hotel Coast Victoria Hotel and Marina.As we were checking the menu for that evening a local man walked by and said this was highly recommended, so we thought we would give it a try. Went to this amazing nook in Victoria downtown during my short trip to the Islands. Was lucky to get a seating on the bar counter as we didn’t make a reservation but the food was so great. Loved the cocktails, especially the season special. Highly highly recommended this place if you’re in town. Don’t forget to make a reservation. They serve Dinner only.
Expensive but an amazing dining experience! The food was incredibly good and brilliantly presented. The waiter was just the right amount of attentive and did not disappoint when he was asked for recommendations. It was difficult to get in but that is simply reflective of the high demand. A definitive 'special occasion ' restaurant!
Classic Italian: fresh, locally sourced ingredients,homemade everything: the pasta, the focaccia bread, the tapenade. I had the legendary puttanesca and it was delicious. The servings are generous, the servers attentive. Such a pleasant room to enjoy a lovely meal. You need a reservation…it is popular for all the right reasons.
Food on another level! My wife and I are G-F but there were plenty of options. We split a salad, an entree and dessert and it was a great plenty. The Barbbara wine was perfect. We came here for our birthday dinner after hearing several recommendations from locals. We made reservations the night before, but I would do it several days out of possible. Everything was so yummy! We shared a salad and main dish. The wait staff were very friendly and helpful.
