we went here for the first time after an article about it in the West essex magazine. there were 3 of us, I don't eat seafood, but my wife loves it and she gets it in the summertime when we go on a long island. we ordered the musclock I tell myself very well. I had the keilsalat, which was also very good. she had a lobster roll and I had the chicken sandwich. both were very good, she would like to have seen more lobster in the roll, and we asked about it and said we could only ask for another part next time. the lobster roll is 17 dollar, which is very good and we pay more, but in the rule a little more, no big thing, but we know better for the next time. overall it was very good. it wasn't...
the lobster bomb was excellent. 8 ounces of lobster meat in an sourded bowl, with a bite on it. the bisque is weakened by the brot that makes it delicious. a must. the crab cakes were nice, but it wasn't Jumbo cums, and it's not roasted. it sits on a tomatensalsa like something that is much too mad. give the cocks a pass. There are many free parking spaces on the museum park opposite (also on a Saturday night). they charge $4 when they byo, the a bummer cuz is it a BYO place. either serve them weeping or let them drink me without their surcharge.
After reading the reviews, I decided to try the Lobster Bisque and New England clam chowder. The bisque was average, nothing special. The flavor was decent, but it was too thick. The New England clam chowder, however, was awful! It was thick and had a pudding-like consistency. The clams were tough and the soup was bland. Additionally, the portion sizes were very small for the price. Overall, I do not recommend this restaurant.
I hesitate to give this place a good review not because they don’t deserve it because nobody seems to know about it, and I kinda want to keep it that way, LoL! If you imagine yourself eating seafood in a New England restaurant known only to locals, Jack’s is exactly like that but without the 3 hour drive. sitting is not my favorite; elbow to be left. the garnels really tasted freshly prepared in a garlic sauce that was somewhat too oily and the lobster fitters were too tasty. but the lobster was perfectly prepared, in which did excellent.
I thought the Dungeness crabs would of been while crabs not just one cluster. Nothing was seasoned, including the pasta. It was okay but disappointing especially for what I paid.
The Salmon, shrimp, and Clam Chowder at this restaurant is consistently outstanding. However, I do wish there was a wider variety of vegetable options to choose from.
