It was a thursday evening (5:30 pm). We had tried the previous week (6:30 pm) but there was no parking available. We could have parked on the other side of Labelle Blvd but it was a "dark & stormy night" and we didn't want to walk across a 4 lane busy road in such low visibility so we went elsewhere.On our second attempt , we were the second couple there so parking was available. Decor was fresh & inviting. Staff was friendly. The menu is varied and reasonably priced. We ordered (General Tao for me, hot salad for my companion). By the time our soup arrived (in 15 minutes) the restaurant was filling up and getting noisy.My General Tao was well-spiced (medium heat, good after burn), the lemon...
How things change..i must of eaten at this place at least 20 times and have always left feeling happy and full.The place has a great terrace and the service is always fast and polite.It use to serve original Thai food that was original and different from other fast food thai restos that you find every where now..Now,Jardin Thai is just a "dont waste your money "resto with no bangs and whistles..i even asked the waitress if it was a new owner...nope...i guess he just got lazy and unrespectfull of customers who come and spend 70$ for shopping mall food court food.I cant believe i got ripped off like that...even the rice or noodles is an extra 1$...the spring roll is a panko roll of nothing muc...
We tried this restaurant for takeout on a Sunday evening. Our usual Asian restaurant closed down and we were seeking an alternative.Unfortunately we will continue looking.The food was good, but we were used to great. The portions were acceptable but we were used to large (enough that we would order our usual 2 main courses for 2 people and know that lunch the next day would be a very large serving of leftovers). In fact the small styrofoam container of rice, which was written '2 riz' (2 portions of rice) on top was smaller than a single serving of rice from our old spot.The General Tao chicken was good as was the Red Curry Beef. The vegetables were crisp, the sauce tasty, but really nothing...
Okay restaurant, has a terrace but next to a major artery very noisy. Inside very comfortable and relatively quite with very good service. One entrée a little overcooked and the other the wrong one. I asked for "NO'' green peppers in my order of general Tao, but was told unable to separate the peppers from the rest. Therefore I did it myself on the plate. Except for those 2 things OK restaurant. After driving by this place for the last 5 years finally came, and wow you gotta try it if your in the area! Try the general Tao! Totally awesome, if you like it spicy ask for 3 chilli flakes. And then sit back and enjoy!
Very good food, the service is fast and very well done. The atmosphere is great and it feels like Asian. The politeness is the mise and the experience is worth it. The prices are very reasonnable
Nice meal, good portion, everyone was happy with their choices. The chicken cari was delicious! Excellent service from both waitress ☺ 2e time there, and will return!
