Learning it was finally open, my wife and I went for some takeout. It's got a very nice atmosphere, including a pool table and chess set to play with while you wait, and very friendly staff. Their menu is concentrated on classics. My wife got the catfish, which was cooked perfectly, and I got ox tails on a bed of rice, which were very flavorful. We both got macaroni and cheese, which we both enjoyed. My other side was green beans, which were soft and slightly salty. I liked them quite a bit. My wife got dirty rice as her second side, and a banana pudding which she enjoyed. They also gave her a sample of their fresh squeezed lemonade which was refreshing and mildly sweetThey are still setting...
I absolutely love J'S Spot! The food is incredible, and the atmosphere is fantastic. The decor is beautiful, and the staff is friendly and welcoming, making it feel very family-oriented. I highly recommend this place to everyone, regardless of culture—friends, families, and couples will all feel at home here. You can truly be yourself without feeling uncomfortable or judged. The vibe is genuine and just plain fun. If you're looking for a great place to hang out, J'Secret is the spot to be. They also host exciting events, and I particularly enjoy date night and nightlife activities.
I was really excited to see a soul food restaurant open in my area. However, I think they could improve if they tasted the food before serving it. The fried catfish was good but quite salty. The kale was undercooked, although it was well-seasoned. The mac and cheese lacked flavorful cheese. On the plus side, I give them an A for pricing—they're much more affordable than Delta’s. Unfortunately, the food just doesn't measure up.
The food was incredible! We ordered the BBQ chicken, which was juicy and tender, served over perfectly cooked rice. The catfish was also delicious, well-seasoned, and fried to perfection. The oxtails were incredibly succulent and fell right off the bone. I would absolutely recommend this place to friends and family. It's a fantastic restaurant, and the prices are more than reasonable—no complaints at all!

Thank you for your hospitality. My wife and I walked in for a menu, ended up being a grand opening. A sample of shrimp and collard greens on garlic sauce was given to us which was awesome. I wish all the best to J’s and the crew. Unfortunately.. my days off are the days the restaurant is closed. I’ll have to take days off to visit.
