We recently had dinner at King Henry's. It’s a lovely old house, with a lovely veranda, and very welcoming. We each had the prawn cocktail for an entree, a bangers and mash, and the sesame crusted salmon salad. The food was definitely nice but not...exceptional and was probably a bit overpriced for the quality. The wait staff were friendly but definitely need some training. I realise everyone is struggling to get staff post Covid but just some basic training would go a long way here. To be fair it was a Thursday night and not a weekend but there were 5 customers. We recently had dinner at King Henry's with another couple; a lovely setting and as it was a warm evening, we enjoyed our table on the verandah, however we all agreed that while the food was nice enough, it was overpriced for the quality. The...wait staff were friendly but appeared to be trying to hurry us along, asking several times for our order initially then after our main course, asked repeatedly if we were ready to order dessert. They tended to hover around and we all felt like they were trying to push us along and get us out the door, despite it being well before 8.30pm. Overall, a very average experience at King Henry's.
The food at this restaurant was delicious and beautifully presented, with excellent service. While it may be a bit pricey, the portions are generous so you definitely get your money's worth. Opting for fewer courses is recommended. The outdoor setting with a Kookaburra singing in the background was lovely. The ox-cheek on parsnip puree was outstanding, scoring a 12 out of 10. The only disappointment was the pumpkin and beetroot salad, which received a 6 out of 10.
I enjoyed my first visit to king henry’s. the staff was wonderful and welcoming, and the food was above all exquisite. I ordered the bark cheek that is simply melted in my mouth. dessert was also delicious; pudding with butterscotch sauce to die. Lovely, English atmosphere surrounded by beautiful gardens. Staff were professional and attentive to our every need. The food was beautifully presented and tasted even better. Good value for money with very generous serves. Highly recommend the home made scones with choice of jam or lemon...curd and fresh cream topped off with a delicious cappuccino.
Took the family out for dinner and had a lovely evening. Beautiful food with excellent customer service throughout the whole evening. Unique English themed Restaurant in Sassafras. We will definitely be going back to try more of the amazing meals and desserts on offer. Thank...you for making us feel so welcome.
Have been here a few times now, and found The Staff lovely, The food Lovely and the Location Lovely.. Have even taken my dog Fiz, who loves sitting on the balcony being a lady that lunches...lol I highly recommend coming here. I will be back.

only after a day in the forest, we met with a warm welcome, vegetarian specialities and a place at the fire. the atmosphere and the staff are worth it again for!
