Every time I go to a new restaurant I order a simple burger to get a feel for what their cooking standards are like. If you can't make a good burger I'm completely uninterested in anything else on the menu. This place blew me away.They absolutely NAILED a simple LTO cheeseburger. Honestly it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. Sometimes I feel like I'm too critical of restaurants until I see one that does things right. 10/10 burger. Absolutely perfect.If I could offer one counterpoint though, their food was a bit pricey. $9 for a glass of Merlot. Together my wife and I had a 1/2 price appetizer each, one alcoholic drink each, and a burger each. $75 before tip. The food was amazing tho...
We made reservations! Onion soup was delayed, when we asked the waitress said that they ran out of broth but the chef was making more. The cheese was properly melted but the broth was hot water with onions in it. I was upset but didn't complain. Then our steaks came out. We both ordered medium but they were extremely rare. First time I have ever sent anything back but it was inevitable. Also the tiny amount of potatoes was cold. When returned they were cooked properly but was told there were no more mashed potatoes because they only made enough for those with reservations. Not recommended. For 150 dollars this place was unsatisfactory.
Do not bother visiting this restaurant. If you are looking for a steakhouse, this is not the place to go. The menu is more like a bar menu and only offers one steak option, an 8oz filet mignon. The service was lacking, with only one server working on a busy Saturday night. The quality of the food was poor, with small portion sizes at high prices. My daughter's burger was overcooked and my other daughter's panini was burnt. There was no background music and the restaurant was freezing cold due to the air conditioning. They also add gratuity directly to the bill and upcharge for everything. Overall, a disappointing experience.
My two daughters and I dined at Kol Steakhouse on Friday, July 14th, 2023. Unfortunately, our first experience at this restaurant was quite disappointing. The service was particularly poor, with our waitress disappearing and never returning to check if we needed anything. After waiting for two hours, we had to locate her at the bar in order to settle our bill and leave. Additionally, both the burgers and chicken we ordered were undercooked. The only positive aspect of our visit was the pleasant ambiance of the restaurant. Despite this, we will not be returning due to the unsatisfactory service and food quality.

We had a baby shower at the Kol Steakhouse earlier this month. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. We were never rushed or inconvenienced. The food was excellent! We were very pleased with our experience. Also, we stayed overnight in the Hotel Anthracite. Again, we were very pleased with the cleanliness of the room and the comfort it offered. The complimentary breakfast was a treat, as well. We ended up having all our meals at the Kol Steakhouse and they were great, as was the staff. High marks, no regrets!!!
Food was sub par didn’t hav a drink menu to look at bar tender didn’t know how to make a proper martini the kitchen was out of stock on certain things and it was a Saturday evening that shouldn’t be the case. Only one server for the whole dinning room. And we expected a steak house like you advertise not a sandwich shop which seemed to be a lot of what the menu consisted of.
For a steakhouse, our dinner party was a little disappointed with the steak since this was a steakhouse, the steak was very chewy, however everything else was great, the drinks were good, service and atmosphere of the establishment was very nice! Needs new food and debatable...but maybe a new
I drove 45 minutes to have some steak and drinks, only to arrive and find the doors locked for a private event. I won't be returning. It's 7:41 pm on a Saturday evening and the restaurant is either closed now or closing at 8pm.

My family recently had a gathering at this restaurant. We reserved a private room for our group of 12 from the main dining area. We placed our order and enjoyed our meal.
Great food. Great service. I really enjoyed my visit here in the great city of Carbondale.
