last night had a wonderful experience in lanthong. we booked in advance, as we were uncertain how busy it would be. we were personally welcomed what was really nice and sitting, the restaurant was empty for a group of 4 but the atmosphere was really nice because it was quiet, intimate and relaxing. and meant the service was quite fast! we told us that it was not necessary to book during the week, but it is in the rule a good idea to book for a Friday or Saturday night. we ordered a few starters: thai dim sum and thai fish cakes. both are really delicious. then we ordered a chicken thai green curry to share, I had the honey duck breast and my faust had a hot beef red curry. we had a jasmine r...
This was my first Thai experience and as a veggie ordered the sweet sour tofu with special fried rice (meat and fish kindly removed . It was amazing!! Delicious and hot!! We were a party of thirteen consisting of meat/fish and veggie eaters. Everyone was catered for. There was not a grumble about anyone's meal : General consensus was 10/10 for taste, quantity, presentation and price .Conversations were had re: returning with family friends me included! We had pre ordered our food, however there was a last minute cancellation plus an unexpected additional guest arrived! The staff dealt with this swiftly and smoothly. it is a small hidden gem in the heart of chelmsford. it is hard to find the entrance as it is a small door that leads to restaurant, but once there is the personal welcoming, professional, friendly and only the ideal place to enjoy some beautiful Thai cuisine. I also bought over takeaway (on deliveroo, the waiting period was so advertised that there were no bad surprises, compared to some other places in chelmsford! the eating itself was great every time I used this restaurant, fresh and tasteful, the portions are decent size and the prices are certainly very reasonable. I went there with my wife for her birthday dinner. Notwithstanding she is Punjabi, Thai is her favourite food and thus she is very particular about the quality. Both of us found the welcome very warm and friendly from the family running it. My wife was in an indecisive mood when it came to both food and drinks, and the lovely owner and her daughter were very helpful in selecting the right mixture of dishes and wine. The flavour and quality of the food was absolutely exquisite. I highly recommend a visit to this restaurant. We plan to go there any time we are in Chelmsford.

Dined here on our last night of the trip. Owner very friendly and helpful. Chef has been there for years and uses only authentic ingredients, and you could tell. Huge choice of food, manager very helpful if we had any questions. They were happy to amend the spice level if required. Extensive wine list at reasonable prices. Altogether excellent and we would go back. Thank you
Arrived early in the evening- almost missed the entrance (restaurant is upstairs). Atmosphere was excellent, staff very attentive and the food was freshly made and delicious. One of the best Thai restaurant we have eaten at and due to our work we eat out all over the UK. Thank you David. We highly recommend this restaurant.
visited for the first time in many many years.. the restaurant is a little dated but the food is awesome ! such a good menu..literaly everything we has was so tasty. we will go back without a doubt. great service too.. enjoy
Everything was cooked to perfection and delicious. Hands down the best satay chicken and prawns on toast we’ve ever had, obviously fresh and homemade 10/10 would recommend
