large independent pub serves a series of American style smoked bbq kitchen. beautiful relaxed atmosphere and very helpful and friendly staff. large food proportions. in any case recommend a visit to eat with family of friends whether it is during the week or at the weekend. I visited several times. I recommend everything from the smoker menu. (the brisket of the bark) the loaded fries are almost a meal in itself! the cake option if it is on the menu is a great Sunday afternoon in the afternoon. (See at the time of this visit there is a slight change in the menu since the kovid shut-off, but if they have luck, it could be again)
this place is such a jewel, we had the delivery from there before that was always amazing, so as a tasty we came here to eat! we had so much to eat that we had to take a few (the half to house in a Doggy bag rivals some of the big dogs like the big ones easy in london. only one way to improve would have cocktails as an option! (frozen slush ones?! and maybe a few more crafty beers and then we would be in the sky. still it is 10/10 recommend the brisket, burned ending, rib tips and pulled boar.
Outside parking for only 2 cars but there is a car park a short walk away. Although a pub, the food is restaurant quality. The short rib is very, very good. Burger was a little dry, but still tasty. Great atmosphere, music just right so you don't have to shout to be heard. Pleasant and helpful staff. Definitely recommend a visit.
our natives, so that we can be regarded as biased. Previously immerse, though, before we were native and loved the atmosphere and eating. since the change to the smokehouse it is even better and the Christmas special of smoked truthahn baguettes are the best Christmas sandwich I ever had.

This restaurant serves amazing home-cooked food, delicious pies, a great selection of beers, and has friendly staff. The atmosphere is fantastic, with a wide range of ales and lagers to choose from, including guest ales on tap. It's definitely a place worth visiting.
The barbecue food here is legit. Forget the salty bad reviews They're mad. This barbecue is as good as you can get, certainly in the area anyway my only complaint is the justeat markup. I'll deff be going to eat in one day.
Wow .. This place has improved since I visited 30 years ago! Cracking menu, loads on offer, good beers and really friendly welcoming staff... it won't be another 30 years for my next visit
Really nice BBQ food. I’d definitely recommend as it’s the best smokehouse in Chelmsford. Quick delivery when we ordered a takeaway and friendly staff. Will be visiting again!
