Great little gem off the beaten path in Canberra. The good: Wonderful selection of sweets, pastries, and treats. Small, and well executed, food menu as well. We bought a range of treats and found them delicious. Tasty without being overly sweet/sugary. The bad: The line-up system is a bit awkward as you'll have people lining up right next to your table. The door is always open from the constant customers, which brings in a chilly draught in winter (so bring a coat). The caluflower and brocolli soup was too salty. The shakshuka was very traditional and felt more like two poached eggs in a tomato soup. Still yummy though.
Gungahlin is definitely making a name for itself with this fantastic patisserie, which is the best in all of Canberra! I've been there several times, and while their breakfasts are similar to what you’d find in any café, their desserts are truly exceptional! I highly recommend the caramel tarts, pecan tarts, and macarons. The fruit tarts are adorable, and the Russian honey cake is always homemade and delicious—but this one is pretty impressive as well!
Wow, huge selection of treats! Cheesecakes, escargot and cinnamon scrolls were nice. I’m quite fussy with my pastries, so was glad I found this place through other reviews. Also grabbed donuts which were pretty and eye catching. Friendly, helpful staff. Next time will to try their breads and danishes and the creme brûlée donut.
I absolutely love their sweet treats and chai latte! I got a cake from them today, and it looked delicious and so elegant. A big thank you to their management team for being inclusive and accommodating different dietary needs—much appreciated! Additionally, the cakes are even better in person than they appear in the pictures.
