We went to eat in this restaurant as a couple and everything was really good. the presentation of the dishes and the accompaniments were refined, nothing to say about the kitchen! We were a little disappointed by our cocktails, judged too small and not decorated enough. service was kind and fast. my only disappointment will remain the room that really lacks a cachet, the furniture is damaged and it is cruelly lacking light. the decoration is too discreet, and I would have wanted to eat with tablecloths to make the place a little warmer. apart, we have had a very good evening and the value for money is quite reasonable. We had a dinner at Le Damier on a July evening as a family of five with three children. We liked the place very much. It is located very close to the historical center of Troyes. A small restaurant with just a few tables and one very friendly waitress who speaks some English (quite rare in the area...). The food is very good, but it is not exactly a fine dining or gourmand restaurant, as its classification on TripAdvisor suggests. So we found exactly what we were looking for - cosy, friendly, relaxed atmosphere, great food, Highly recommended!
Used to this restaurant we went there one night with our 4-year-old kid who used to date us. But we had a very bad evening not because of our son but too long service. already to have a map we waited for a little while then for the taking of orders and the arrival of the dishes an eternity we even claim our bottle of water yet ordered but forgotten. and the restaurant was far from being full no wonder. Too bad because we liked to go... For the meal it was correct despite everything.
This once great ancient room has been despoiled by someone whose style has been gleaned from airport waiting rooms in Africa. The outstanding feature is a large box structure painted fuchsia pink, proclaiming 'toilette' in one corner. The menus are presented in very tacky plastic wallets, poorly composed, and the wine selection omits any reference to vintage.This a great shame as the food is quite good.

in the heart of August where many restaurants are closed, we enjoyed this relaxing moment in this pretty rustic restaurant. the kitchen is excellent and refined, served by a charming and efficient staff. I also liked the frame with its very old walls. I strongly advise you.
breakfast very friendly to 3 in this beautiful room. the cromesquis of duck parmenter were very good and then the sweet patate ... very good !! good courage for the rest, I took some elements for the opening in a few years of my future restaurant. auriane
we arrived the restaurant was barely a third, we waited 15 minutes before we took the card and for the takeover after a new quarter of an hour we left ... waitresses will not see the customers, no smile no music ... super cold ...
We were 5, everyone liked admissions, dishes and desserts. It's really good cooked. The dishes are original. very good quality / price
