Situated in a medieval house on rue Voltaire - the most handsome street in Chinon - this restaurant is a winner for so many reasons.There are two dining rooms, one on the entrance level and one upstairs. It's a toss-up as to which is the more attractive. We dined happily downstairs, surrounded by grey stone walls, wrought iron sconces with taupe shades, soft grey draperies and plenty of fresh flowers. The décor is subdued yet stylish. (A small table topped with a vase of flowers is placed between each table-for-two, providing diners with a nice sense of privacy in the not very large room.) located a few steps from our hotel, the hostellerie gargantua, which is also worth a visit, this charming restaurant with classic and elegant decoration has charmed us. A table on the floor was waiting for us (it's better to book, the restaurant was complete)Even soothing, goat snails are extraordinary, the chef revisits snails with elegance with several sweet salty shades that will caress your taste buds, note by the presence of a surprising and very light goat sorbet. The dishes of calves are very good, without a big surprise but very successful. a cheese tray follows, which became rare but so appreciated! It was an exquisite moment on the terrace for a sunny lunch. pleasant, attentive reception and service. Our dishes have been excellent - two different menus for my husband and I, who each met our expectations (daurade and ris de veau very well emphasized). Beautiful presentation, beautifully worked.A charming step in this city where the good addresses are (unfortunately) no longer legion but which deserves the detour!
we found this restaurant 3 years ago thanks to the site my parents didn't know it by living third time in the region the patroness listens to its customers we are feasted with the menu m, tartare of the rub and liver foie gras cocoa, bar and beef fillet, beautiful quality cooking just and beautiful presentation beautiful cheese tray ( it becomes rare) and dessert sorbet, fresh cheese raspberry, chocolate

nice place, well presented food but with little balance between flavors. the service was as confusing as the dishes. staff pour the wine but do not remove the empty plates for a long time, take the coats to the wardrobe but does not make it return them and does not explain where they have been stored .. things like that .. in addition it is a little too expensive ..
pleasant setting away from the central square or agglutinent cafes and restaurants. calm and warm atmosphere. we have prices two formulas noon to 19.50, nothing to say, the dishes were neat and cooked with talent, very fresh products, beautiful ingenuity. very good value for money. bravo
simple and refined cuisine. the products are local and all the kitchen is made home. the service is impeccable and the reception smiling and attentive. outstanding value for money in view of the quality of products and the kitchen.To discover without hesitation!
