Magpie 's (or more colloquially known in Valdez as Maggie 's) has been my go to for the Summer. The lovely and gracious host of Magpie 's is an instigator of fun a facilitator for creativity. Magpie 's offers an excellent daytime café. I 've visited regularly this summer for a midday treat of scrumptious seasonal scones and a beverage; lavender and ginger, blueberry and lemon, pumpkin just to name a few. Yum love them! Your host is also the producer of the Friday and Saturday evening End of the Road follies. The show is hilarious and has something for everybody. I 've seen it three times this season. Magpie's On The Fly has the best food, atmosphere, and entertainment in Valdez, AK. It's a guaranteed good time. I am on the road exploring Alaska and while in Valdez.... I spent most of my nights here. The food was delicious, the staff was super friendly and outgoing, the beer was cold and the music was outstanding. I went for open mic night as well (twice).... a good time!! Ambiance was fun hot chocolate not very good at all. People were okay but nothing special, not friendly or welcoming.
