This was one of my favourite go to Izakaya’s in Richmond for a while. Everyone knew Manzo and they even opened a second location because of their success. Ebi mayo was synonymous with them and they were great back then.I will admit I haven’t been here for a few years, but coming back it seems a lot of other izakaya’s have surpassed them, unfortunately.We may have caught them at a bad time, but we sat down around 8pm and ordered promptly since it was a late dinner for us and we were hungry. We didn’t get our first dish until close to 8:45pm. The table beside us sat down around 8:30pm and got their food at the same time as us. There was a large group being served so it’s probably just bad timi...
It’s been 5+ years since I’ve last visited. Used to come here to get drunk late night, so of course I wouldn’t remember the food and what it tasted like. Dropped by recently and honestly the food was good, and service was super kind and nice. Really liked the engawa sushi, and the uni crab roll. The bluefin tartar was melt in your mouth good. And the tako wasabi so crunchy and punchy. They kept coming to clean up the dishes and was super attentive all night, despite not spending much. The only down side is that this place is expensive. And in that price range and in Richmond, you have plenty to choose from like Kyabia a few blocks down.
At first I thought we were at a fine dining experience because everything was so expensive and they served us one small plate at a time for 6 people. But then I realized that they were just really slow. So when we asked if they could check our orders, the response was “you arent the only table here”. I guess that was our cue to leave.
My absolute favourite sushi restaurant! The sashimi was fresh and delicious with gorgeous presentation. We ordered a variety of dishes and everything was amazing. Service was excellent as well! Can’t wait to come back :D Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
I felt like it's a Chinese restaurant instead of the Japanese. Bad services and it's not authenticated Japanese. Overpriced and low quality food. I would never come back. This story happened back to 2007.
The food was superrrr slow and the service was bad. The server claimed that they not only had one table of clients when we asked if we could have our order sooner. I will never come back here again.
We waited for an hour for our food orders to arrive. The service was bad and the food quality was so so. Everything was pricy as well. We had Such a bad experience.
