Man, I really want to like this place (used to love it when it was Foundation Grounds , I believe it 's family owned now. Some of the family seems to be working together. It 's a local place with pride, it would be GREAT for it to do well. But geeze, there were some major things wrong. This is my second visit to Maplewood Deli Coffeehouse (formerly Foundation Grounds), and the experience continues to be wonderful. The staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly every time. Their lattes, especially the seasonal honey cinnamon flavor shown here, are excellent, and the food on their menu is just as impressive! The cozy, inviting atmosphere makes it a perfect spot to work or catch up with friends. One of the unique touches I love is the Pay It Forward coffee board, where you can buy a coffee for someone who might be having a tough day—they can redeem it using the sticky notes displayed. Maplewood Deli Coffeehouse is definitely one of my favorite coffee spots in STL so far!
Nice little independent coffee and sandwich shop in the quaint old town district. Current construction in the road in front of the building means you'll need to park on a side street but just a short walk away. Nice selection of your expected coffee drinks and a short list of sandwiches. Nice building with plenty of seating for a one on one meeting or to just hang and get some work done. Free wi-fi and a quiet atmosphere make it a solid place to remote work. Staff is competent and friendly but not engaging. Not required but that's a quality I usually expect from an independent coffee shop. Worth a stop.

We were looking for a breakfast spot in the area and stumbled upon Maplewood Deli and Coffeehouse. They had a dog friendly patio and it perfectly situated in a corner block. They had a great menu and even better daily specials! We ordered the daily special, meat lovers burrito and the Hot Honey Biscuits. Both were absolutely phenomenal. The service was fast and clean. For all you mommas with littles in diapers this small spot even has baby changing stations in three bathroom (thank goodness). I love a great local spot and I love a pay it forward board. Great place for food and an amazing atmosphere.
I popped in to finally have a cup of coffee and perhaps a treat. Meredith the barista was truly kind and delightful to create a comfortable space to enjoy. I took the time to put the phone down and really look around. Tables are space nicely not too and not too close. If you’re looking for a place for friends to make a memory that last forever. Maplewood Deli Coffeehouse offers a lively, quirky, and trendy atmosphere with a bohemian feel that truly reflects the spirit of Maplewood, where colorful locals gather. Their cookies are absolutely delicious! One small suggestion: it would be great if they could bring the drinks directly to the table after ordering, as I sometimes feel a bit awkward when my order is called out in front of everyone.
Elizabeth is the best and serves the community well. The drinks are amazing and the atmosphere is inviting. The gratitude board allows customers to pay it forward to support those within the community. It is absolutely one of my favorite locations for business meetings or to simply drop in!
