Last year, my husband and I visited Margarita's in Port Jefferson. Unfortunately, the service and food were both disappointing. They apologized and sent us a gift certificate to give them another chance, so we tried the Smithtown location. The staff there was friendly, but we were seated in a very noisy area, so we decided to move. Our dinner was excellent, but no one checked on us to see how our meal was or if we wanted another drink, even when my glass was completely empty. We constantly had to track down staff to refill my water and get takeout boxes. It’s a shame that a restaurant with such good food doesn’t pay more attention to customer service.

We took it to the one in Smithtown. We where greeted kindly but placedin a busy area. We moved then ordered. Our dinner was excellent but no one came to ask how our food was or if we wanted anythingmore to drink as my glass was completely empty. We constantly had to hunt down someone to get my glass filled with water andboxes for the food then the bill. It’s such a shame that for a nice restaurant you don’t put more detail into customerservice.
Had a great time now that things are opening back up, food was great! Music was cool they had a live mariachi band playing in dining room. We both had empanadas and ultimate nachos both were great! Only small thing was the red sangria was a bit strong...didnt care much for it...tres leches cake was AMAZING! Absolutely get a slice if you go! Great work all! We will be back!
Delicious food, great service, live mariachis, very nice ambience, went there on Saturday around 6 pm, got a table as soon as we got there. Had the empanadas, were served with a shrimp and chicken sauce on top, delicious! The skirt and ribeye were cooked perfectly, the seabass was also perfect.

Margarita's Cafe offers a great Mexican-themed dining experience with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. When I visited on a Friday, there was live music, which added to the enjoyable ambiance. There is plenty of parking available, and the prices are very reasonable.
Rice and beans ok. Small portion on the steak. Red sauce with quesadella was italian grade gravy. Their hot sauce is the best in any restaurant I have had. Not for white people. Lol
The food and drinks at Margarita's Cafe are amazing! The fried calamari was perfectly crispy and served with two delightful dipping sauces.
