My family and I visited Marybrooke Manor for my birthday several weeks ago, as we were looking for somewhere special to spend the afternoon having a High Tea. The setting of the Manor is beautiful, and we enjoyed the drive there and looking at the beautiful gardens, and we arrived at the restaurant with high expectations. We were, however, extremely disappointed with our experience of the afternoon.We were shown to our table in the restaurant, amongst the diners there for a Sunday pub type lunch, and were then left alone for 10-15 minutes without an explanation of how the afternoon would unfold or what we could expect. Came in for a weekend breakfast, they charge a \premium over all nearby venues only to get sub standard food, really disappointing. Staff were good about it though and did not charge for some items, If I were a guest and it was my included meal I could live with it but not spending $100 for a weekend breakfast. the $16 waffles with blueberries consisted of 1 pancake sized and shaped waffle, with tinned berries. The big breakfast comes with a hashbrown the size of my thumb, supermarket eggs, toast and bacon and some sauteed mushrooms and half a tomato for over $20. The OJ is not fresh but the sort you buy in the unregridgerated part of the supermarket... I honestly woudln't prepare this stuff...
Attended a wedding at Mary Brooke Manor the reception room was lovely and the staff were obliging, Gardens are beautiful the food was okay. my only strong criticism is the amount of steps to the rooms and even into the reception area if you are in a wheelchair permanently this is not the place to be. This day and age ramps should be mandatory although there is a ramp at the rear of the building for guests requiring upstairs accommodation we could not find it.
Average food, Average service, Chips tasted like they were microwaved. Quiche lacked taste and a bit dry. Service was terrible, waitress dropped cutlery but caught it and we had a joke with her and she just frowned and walked off. We were waiting for 15 minutes for one small chocolate tart, whilst they talked to people being shown around for a tour. Lovely wedding, gardens are stunning and there is a certain feeling of something special about the building.The punch was cool but by the end of the night the bar staff were getting lazy and it became red lemonade. Entree pasta was awesome, didn't think too much of the steak, was quite dry.Overall a really nice venue for a wedding or special event.
I held a function at Marybooke Manor in October this year. The grounds are spectacular and the building is so wonderful. The service from the function staff was great and in particular, the manager Deborah provided exceptional initiative. I felt the prices were reasonable and I just can't recommend Marybrooke enough.
Sunday afternoon high tea was delightful, plenty of perfectly sized treats and endless scones a bonus. Staff were excellent and any requests were promptly taken care of. The addition of childrens meals for our youngsters was perfect, definitely recommend this high tea experience
Outside venue excellent for wedding. Inside a little cramped but cosy. Before booking check rules for last drinks and power of staff to refuse drinks as I found their attitude to non intoxicated patrons strange and I was paying the bill. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
Attended a wedding faction There was a choice of 3 main meals I choose the lamb I found it to be very dry and not present not happy at all with the response from manger/owner would not waste my time returning to this venue.
