When you first walk in, it's so dark. Can barely see the hostess. We had reservations for 2. We got stuck at the very back of restaurant in front of stacked boxes, front row seat to the inside of the women's restroom right by the kitchen. Not anywhere a couple would want to sit. It was extremely loud. There were 3 large parties around us, so we could barely hear each of us talk. It was restaurant week so we were excited to try the 4 course dinner. My husband ordered spice level 2, I ordered 3. Appetizers were amazing. His soup was so spicy, neither of us could eat it. The main entrees were so incredibly spicy that I would have thought they were level 5. I love spicy, but it was not even edib...
Beautiful, upscale, sophisticated, personal, innovative, and unique. These are just a few words that perfectly describe Merlion. The drinks are wonderful, the wine list is comprehensive, and the Thai dishes are creative. Katie took excellent care of us, and was attentive at just the right moments. The Crab Bisque is incredible, and the Kang Ped with shrimp was heavenly. The Kan Kun Sapporos with pineapple and chicken was also incredible. We keep trying to guess the ingredients in the Crab Bisque each time we try it; it 's just so incredibly delicious. All of the appetizers and main dishes are incredible, and the ambiance is sublime. These are just a few of the many reasons why we keep coming...
A wonderful evening, sampling some of Merlion's best appetizers. We love the Mixed Tempura (with shrimp and calamari , the Crab Bisque, and the Softshell Crab. Katie took great care of us at just the right moments. We also received a warm greeting from Bernice, the restaurant manager. (From dining here for many years, we've come to know almost all of the crew at Merlion. For a main course, I tried the Kao Pad (fried rice with crab meat, which was absolutely delicious. My Wife opted for the Pad Thai with sirloin, which she also loved, although she said it was a little dry. This was quickly solved by requesting some soy sauce. Make sure to try one of their many varieties of different flavored...
This was our first time here after many recommendations. I set up reservations through Open Table the same day. Bar and table seating were both available so I noted that either would be fine. Received a call from Merlion shortly after asking which I preferred. I waffled so they suggested we start at the bar then move to a table later. Well, we wound up staying at the bar because the bartender was so wonderful. We rdered a reasonably priced bottle of wine and lots of apps- all were delicious, especially the beef satay, dragon fire dumplings, and crab/cream cheese egg rolls. We enjoyed a fantastic evening dinner here at Merlion once again. Our server Jessica, took great care of us at just the right moments. Try a Champagne Martini while chatting with your partner. I definitely have my favorite dishes here. But everything on the menu is incredible. The attention to detail makes Merlion very special; etched wine glasses, rose petals on the table, personally lit table tops, and real linen tablecloths. This does not go unnoticed; these are details that you don't find practically anywhere else. But the Thai dishes are the real stars; excellent, flavorful, creative, and spicy. We absolutely love it, and Merlion is a stellar standout in Seabrook.
I’ve heard about this place for years so we decided to go for happy hour. It was 1/2 off appetizers so we ordered 4 different one and loved them all….especially the chicken skewer things with peanut sauce and the dumplings. Loved the vibe and met some good people.
Always enjoy Merlion but last night was not so enjoyable. The food as always was delicious, but the wait time between courses was terrible. From start to finish our dinner took 3 hours. Glad we were not in a hurry but still way too long to sit and wait for dinner.
