As a local, I noticed the tradies congregating around Mermaid's and took that as a good sign that there would be tasty, well-priced food on offer. I wasn't disappointed. It's not a restaurant, it's a takeaway, so the Trip Advisor rating system is a wee...bit wonky: I mean, it's not a dine-in experience so atmosphere' and service' are kind of irrelevant. (Having said that, this has become one of my favourite takeaways and everyone's always very nice I highly recommend the battered fish; big portions, good pricing, the fish is always tasty and the batter is always crisp. we were told about this place and pointed out that we at least tried to eat her. we and I have to say it wasn't the last time. the food is of good quality and given the turn, fresh. the sorte is. like no other one I have seen in each take and we have been there about the time we were in tassie at breakfast lunch and dinner, so happy can recommend each of their meals. the prices are also very reasonable.
one of the busiest and largest decisions in take away in northern suburbs. huge parking space behind. many choices in full meal times to take away, snacks, sandwiches etc. always fresh as they turn around is as fast as they are always so busy.
After you've died and gone to Heaven and guilty pleasures abound this will be the eatery I shall frequent after meeting St Peter. Awesome staff, consistently fresh and tasty offerings all with a smile. Never disappoints!

If you love the traditional take away with many extras then this is the place to go. Very popular. Very busy. Lots of staff to serve you. No waiting even when very busy. Reasonably priced. Lots of options.
