I last reviewed (5* a year ago and have been in a few times since but not reviewed until now. There has definitely been a decline. It seemed to begin with the removal of Dortmunder beer, although that may just be a coincidence. This time we went in for lunch, it was very empty. We ordered sandwiches and they took an age to come. I then had to ask the waitress for cutlery and napkins!! Standard issue in a restaurant and she also attempted to bring another meal to our table that wasn't ours. Yes, this can happen but since there was only one other table occupied, you wouldn't really expect it. The sandwiches, usually served on really thick bread, were on quite thin, normal bread. Was really looking forward to trying this place out one lunchtime. Got ignored outside had to go ask for menus. Very Young girl took drinks order and then food which was a simple cold platter and 3 sandwiches. Waited almost an hour chased the order twice to be told it was on its way when we saw bother girl hurrying back with bread. Eventually I went to pay for the 4 drinks and told the girl to forget the food ...she didn’t even know what drinks we’d had. It wasn’t even very busy. Won’t be returning
We absolutely adore this restaurant! It has become our go-to spot for me and my partner, my family, and even my dog! The decor is beautiful, the atmosphere is fabulous, and the owner and her team are incredibly friendly. I will definitely be recommending this place to all my friends. From affordable drinks like a pint of Peroni and G&Ts to delicious meals and sharing platters, this place has everything. It is definitely our favorite spot in Southport.
We stayed in Southport 2 nights and went to Mezzanine both evenings with our two dogs. We were made to feel so welcome when we had our drinks the first night and the food envy we had from the others in to eat meant we had to come back again. The second night was even better and the service was excellent. Overall I could not fault the atmospheere, staff, food, drinks or price. There was even water and biscuits for the dogs.

I wish I had seen some of previous reviews before I went to this establishment and ordered a meal. When I made a complaint because the food was awful the staff I spoke to did nothing to recompense or make amends for the situation. I would not waste my time or money ever go back to this place as it was very disappointing and a bad experience,
This bistro is the best place to go if you have a dog - they prioritize the needs of your furry friend first. The service is excellent, and the food and drinks are both delicious and reasonably priced. I would never visit Southport without stopping by this top-notch establishment.
The restaurant had odd flashing lights and bits of paper stuck up with welcome signs. The staff showed no interest in serving customers. I suggest giving them 3 months to improve before trying them again.
My daughter and I were invited for the launch of the new Tapas menu and it was simply delicious! The staff are so welcoming and made amazing cocktails for my daughter. Highly recommended this hidden gem.

We love to pop in here. It's location is handy for pre-theatre drinks. It is great for a coffee or a beer when you just fancy one during the day. It also does good sharing plates and comfort food
Lovely little place to have light bites and drinks. Great location right in the center of the town and it's made all the better by the lovely staff. Highly Recommended. Tom Liana
