Modern Orchid - Tisch reservieren

I had heard good things about this place and I called ahead to make sure they had vegan options. Who I spoke to on the phone was very helpful and sounded understandably about vegan items. So I chose Modern Orchid for lunch with a group. Modern orchid was extremely disappointing and I regret taking others there. Our server seemed to have no idea what veganism is, even after I explained that I did not eat any animal products. Since it is not marked on the menu, I asked if the vegetable dish I was most interested in vegan. My server said yes. I asked if it contains fish sauce or shrimp paste. He said yes again! For some reason this restaurant is one of my Mother’s favorites, so we decided to take her there on her birthday. I was very surprised that this was one of her favorites as a) in my opinion the quality of food was rather poor and b) it was in a strip mall and had little atmosphere. As we had a large party, there were a variety of dishes served. My wife and I had a vegetable Pad Thai and it was simply bland. We also had a couple of Tsing Tao beer, which is one of our Chinese favorites. That said, we had a good laugh as they spelt Tsing Tao incorrectly on the menu. when we arrived restaurant was busy but we were seated promptly. they gave ample time to order. after order was placed it took a little bit of time for it to arrive but the server came back to tell us that it was coming shortly. the food was good no complaints on quality. we had ordered combination plates. the plate with no extras was a good portion. the other which had a extra item added seemed that the 2 portions were smaller than the single plate item. for the additional cost there should have been a little more on the plate. overall the food was good, service was good, the restaurant was clean, will go there again.

Had dinner with 9 friends on a Saturday night and it was great. Lots of choices from the menu and everyone found something that they enjoyed. Look forward to going back with friends and family.

we have gone here many times over the last two years and love there food and service is good have tryed many things on the meneu and conbo plates are great to try
