Awesome local place with friendly service, lovely meals & an authentic 'Aussie pub' feel.. The lamb schnitzel & porterhouse steak meals we ordered today were tasty & filling. We couldn't even finish our meals as the portions were so generous. There are real locals here, generally the hard yakka type, who come here for a drink after work, but they don't bother us.. in fact, they add more authenticity to the place. Anybody waiting for this pub to change, should change their choice of pubs. There aren't many pubs like this left in Seddon, Yarraville or Footscray, as local places are being bought by investors & turned into gastro pubs & cafes, with more effort being put into the decor than the m...
Had a meal here on Wednesday night for their pot and parma night and it was really nice! The parma was tasty, fresh ingredients, served with a lovely salad and crunchy chips. Had drinks on Sunday afternoon with friends and was impressed with the snack menu that is available...lots of nice nibbles we thoroughly enjoyed. Also had the steak sandwich which was very good served in between turkish bread which was very light. Will definitely be back.
I had a terrible meal at this establishment unbelievably awful.I ordered a main from menu the calamari came with a salad and chips .Looked ok however when I tasted the tomato it was off and mushy so old and salad leaves were limp.I told waiter and he brought a new batch of salad.No apology from chef!!!In this day and age no meal should have rotten tomatoes or black burned bits from fryer.Never going back !
We were looking for a place to have a drink or two after a day out. We thought it looked like a shabby cute little local pub. We didn't quite get that right. It was a Monday night, we thought it would be quiet. We walked through the door at the front bar and were greeted with a **** off from the local yobs. Walked straight back out. Charming! Give it a miss.

Excellent food, lovely atmosphere, family friendly too. We had a table of 6 and everyone loved their meal, great prices too plus other people were having a party in another area out the back and having heaps of fun. Also an outside area which is covered too, really fantastic. Definitely recommend it and the owner and staff are all lovely.
I had previously been to the Mona Castle and thought the food was okay. I had heard they had a new chef and menu so decided to check it out and the food was fantastic! Can't wait to go back.
Called in for a few pints, I think some serious drinking goes on here. Good service, quiet Sunday night. Slight aroma of vomit and stale beer, my kind of pub.
Great local pub with TAB and awesome meals. Everyone knows everyone and they are all so friendly. One of the only pubs left that has not been done up.

Had a beer and some food. Very very average, no atmosphere, a few drunks, won't be going back in a hurry.
Great place for beer and watch the AFL - footy Also have lots of TVs for putting on a bet.
