You absolutely must check out Motley School Tavern for brunch! I had previously only been there for appetizers and drinks, so this was my first experience with their brunch menu. My in-laws were visiting, and upon their suggestion, we decided to give it a try. Everything was fantastic! Our server, Tre, was exceptional—super knowledgeable and friendly. I asked for my Bloody Mary to be on the spicier side, and it was just right; I really love when horseradish is included in the mix. Wow, the omelets here are absolutely amazing! The pancakes are light and bursting with flavor. We found this gem on Google Maps while in town for a wedding, and the reviews raved about a server named Tre. We were lucky enough to have him, and he was fantastic—so down-to-earth and offered excellent recommendations. Talking to him felt like reconnecting with an old friend. I can't forget to mention the omelet with mushrooms, goat cheese, and Brussels sprouts—it was genuinely one of the best I've ever had! You have to check this place out; you won’t regret it! It’s definitely a 5+ experience!
I have to say, the food was excellent, and the water we had was refreshing. However, there was an unpleasant smell in the restaurant that detracted from the experience. It reminded me of the odor you encounter in a hot gym without air conditioning. I'm not sure if it was due to a staff member who hadn’t showered in a while or a ventilation issue, but it definitely affected my enjoyment. I hope the staff is aware of it and that it gets resolved soon.
Braised pork cheeks and sweet potato purée gnocchi for dinner were delicious. The gnocchi is better than it sounds. It had a great texture and warm brown butter flavor. Pork cheeks come with grilled polenta, tomato sauce and crispy onions on top that go nicely together. We enjoyed every last drop of both! We consistently have amazing experiences at this restaurant. Pictured below is the Northern Pike served with Cheddar Grits and Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes, as well as the Double Burger and Handcut Fries—everything was outstanding! I typically have my doubts about grits, but these were a delightful surprise. The service has also been excellent.
This is a charming little restaurant with reasonable prices. I ordered the pork loin but received a pork chop instead, and there was no communication about the change. The chop was slightly overcooked, but it still tasted good. The service was attentive, and the drinks were enjoyable.
The fried chicken was absolutely fantastic! I also enjoyed some bruschetta, chilled cucumbers, carrots, grits, and jalapeno cream corn. I can't wait to return and try the brunch menu!

I celebrated my birthday at MST and it is always a fantastic experience! Gnocchi, Chicken, and Bruschetta... All amazing! And I always get some pie, even if it's to-go!
