We hadn't been to the Kildare House for a few years, not for any reason we just weren't in that area often! We decided last Friday to head there for dinner & we were not disappointed!!!!! Husband ordered the fish & chips which are massive & are the BEST in the city!! My mother enjoyed the Perch basket & I had a delicious steak sandwich!! Our server was friendly & very helpful! Nothing was a hassle! It was a busy Friday night but we didn't wait long for food! They have t.v's in different areas & a large screen showing our local hockey team playing their Memorial Cup game. Definitely recommend this pub!!
Me and my girlfriend were staying in Windsor and took a taxi over to the local Brewery for a beer tasting. And we seen this cute Irish pub Restaurant and thought we would check it out! The bartender was the cutest young guy! Wish I knew a young relative to fix him up with! Any way we ordered the Sheppard pie! I've always loved this dish! Well, it was cold witch led me to believe that it's probably frozen!! Cold mashed potatoes... yuck! Oh well, I would not recommend! Sorry
Lots of seating inside & more outdoors. Bottled beer served without a glass. Chicken Quesadilla excellent, as well as the Fish and Chips. Lobster Mac & Cheese sounded better than it tasted. Just way too bland. They had a huge crowd for a Sunday evening which made the service very slow. It took 40 minutes to get our orders. No refills on soft drinks in Canada. We enjoyed the atmosphere while we waited.
Lunch on the holiday wasn't a problem as we found Kildare House within three bloclks of the VIA Rail Station. Warmly greeted, the food was some of the best pub fare we have had. The Halibut wrap was large enough to be shared as was the Steak Sandwich. Both items were of superior quality. The prices are economical and you get good value for your dollar.

It was a cute bar - A house turned into a restaurant. Seating is snug. It's very loud. We had the halibut and shepherd's pie. While the restaurant was busy, we waited an exceptionally long time for them. They were both cold but tasted ok. There wasn't anything wrong but I won't be in a hurry to go back.
Just returned from u.k. and quite impressed at the authenticity of this place. Large fish and chip portions well prepared and delicious. Service was quite attentive and courteous. Large selection of good brews topped off lunch. Will return again
4 of us came in early and sat at the bar. We were entertained by and we entertained young Dan the bartender for several hours. We drank, then we ate, then we drank more. It is a quaint place with fun young folks to keep it jumping.
The riblets were new to the menu and we're good the staff was friendly it was a warm and inviting place easy to start up a conversation with the locals.

Sat at the bar with a friend for lunch. Great food and service. Will definitely return for more lunch dates to keep trying other menu items.
