Always on the lookout for great bread and pastries, I came across Pane e Pizzico whilst walking around Essendon and was tempted in by the delicious breads in their window. Upon entry I discovered a treasure trove of baked goods and some Italian deli items. The smell was amazing, and it was very difficult to choose what to have. <br/ <br/ We decided upon a huge sourdough loaf for home, and a blackberry jam tart and nutella pastry to eat on the run. The sweets were so much fun. Simple, sweet and delicious, with delicate pastry and yummy fillings. The bread was outstanding and was a huge hit at home. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and I can't wait to go back to try their savoury pizz...
We went here on Christmas Day amd found it by chance. It is tucked away from the main road looking onto a Coles car park. Not a very inviting location, however, the orange umbrellas drew us there. Wow! The coffee was the best I had had in Melbourne and the bread was superb. A lovely Italian woman served us with a smile and we received a mini pannetone as well being xmas. The smells emanating from the store were needless to say , delicious. It is my new favourite. The cakes are handmade as well. Do yourself a favour and seek this gem out, you definitely wont be disappointed.
Most diners have certaian expectations of Italian food. This cafe has delicious breads and pizza, plus lashings of sweets for those with a sweet tooth. The coffee is good and strong. Sourdough bread is a feature on the menu. Italian juices are also avalable, The cafe is open seven days a week. Prices are moderate. If you ask for a strong cafe latte, you will get a strong coffee. This is a special cafe. As they say "when the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pide, it's amore."
The bread, the pizza, the dolce! Where does one start! The coffee is wonderful, the assortment of Italian grocery items available is a nice touch, but the draw card time and time again is the food! I couldn't recommend this place high enough, the bread is incredible, the breakfast options are too good to refuse and the desserts are the icing on the cake! The service is always impeccable - greeted with a chorus of 'Ciao' and 'Buongiorno' - the team here are a winning thing!

After my favorite pastry shop in Melbourne closed down a year ago, I had lost hope of finding a decent Melbourne-made Panettone or Colomba again. But then I stumbled upon Pane e Pizzico. I am so grateful that they exist. Their fresh and delicious Colomba has a delightful mild citrus flavor that doesn't leave you feeling overly full. If you were a fan of Bisetto and miss it, you will absolutely love Pane e Pizzico.
This intriguing little bakery has a wide variety of Italian style breads and rolls, as well as some French style. They also do a line in delightful little luncheon pizzas, and great tarts and pastries. They also help to brush up on your Italian language skills.
Well, it's a small Italian bakery opposite the supermarket car park where you can sit in fairly basic surroundings! But you can have a great coffee, greeted Italian style by the loveliest friendly and polite staff! My favourite coffee spot in the area!
A marmalade cornetti and an espresso at this small cafe is the perfect way to start your day!! The coffee is great and the service is just as good. Well worth a visit.

The place reminded me of a little bakery and cafe in Italy. The coffee was perfect and the little cookies were a nice touch.
