Pastrami Plus in East Meadow West of Wantagh Parkway exit and then on the left side lot of stores. It has your standard deli foods and the prices are high. The sign says cash only but now for 4 they will take a credit card payment. The potato pancakes are huge and thick and not the small thin favorable ones. They are sold 1 each or 1 order of 3 each. Not something I plan to order again. They make their own knishes in a large muffin cup size enough to cut up to 2 to 4 slices. The pastrami (upon request) was lean on rye bread with mustard with a choice of sour or 1.2 sour pickles. They did have corn dogs or the equivalent knish dogs on a stick. First time at Pastrami Plus and it was very good My wife and I had pastrami on rye extra lean with a square potato knish and a home made potato knish which was very good The owner brought us pastrami to taste afterward and I must tell you the taste was delicious no need to order extra lean not fatty at all Pickles sour and half sour and cole slaw tasty not so much dressing but not dry Will be going back
Looks can be deceiving. It appears a little run down and from 30something years ago. So everything inside is in need of an upgrade but this isn't why you go there. This is a typical blue collar meat sandwich lunch break type place. They are renowned for the hot pastrami. It is amazing. Go for the food and the friendly face behind the counter, he's a nice guy
They have a combo corned beef and pastrami with cole slaw and thousand island dressing called the 'East Meadow ' that is the greatest deli sandwich around. We have ordered that sandwich for years and when there are 4 adults eating and all 4 want the same sandwich you know it must be a keeper. Their homemade knishes cant be missed.
I came here with my father in law and little daughter and we all loved it. I have been coming here on and off for years and they have the BEST pastrami around. I went to Ben’s and paid almost $20 for half a sandwich and the pastrami was ok bud not great. Sal is always a joy to speak with. I love this place.
The sandwich is smaller, but still tasty. You always get pimples, expensive meat. Great potato everything. No credit cards, only cash. Read the menu home, it takes a while to decide. I've never seen where they prepare food. Anybody tell us?
Fantastic Sandwich So tasty and the fries to die for. Immediate serving of cole slaw and pickles. Amazing sweet taste of the cole slaw tickles the pallet. Excellent service and very friendly atmosphere.Food: 5/5
Got pastrami by the pound to go. Owner was so helpful and pleasant. He explained exactly how to reheat the pastrami so it didn't dry out. Will definitely be back whenever we're back in the area.
Hands down one of Long Island's hidden gems. Have been coming here for years and haven't had a bad meal once. Best pastrami sandwich you'll find if you have room, make sure to get a gary dog!
