Philomena is a treasure in the neighborhood. Been going there since they opened. Love both the pub feeling with a great tap and canned beer selections, and their pizzas, especially the pork belly option. Great place to go with friends land family, or both! I have been ordering my own pizza creation for years: white sauce, pork belly, persilade, Calabrian chile, and arugula. Hope one day they name that pizza after me! Kid-friendliness: Going there with my girls since they were about one year old. They are 9 now and they love it. There is always something for kids and adults.
I ordered the Harbor Side pizza, which is truly my ideal combination (pesto, pineapple, arugula, and I added jalapenos). My friends opted for a build-your-own salad, which was delightfully fresh. The restaurant has a variety of high-top tables and a few regular tables that seat four, along with some outdoor seating. They also offer a nice selection of draft beers, craft sodas, and plenty of snacks—aside from the pizza, of course!
I honestly love this place. Good vibe, good people, good, food.I've been a bunch of times, both in person and for takeout. Get any of the pizzas with pesto! I have a nut allergy so I can't usually order pesto, but they have a nut-free pesto that is awesome.The sides are definitely big enough to share, so I usually have leftovers.I'm not a huge beer person, but I usually try a sour or a cider, and they never miss
We had a great time in the dining room! The beer on tap is outstanding, and the food is delicious as well. On a lazy day, we decided to order delivery, but I was disappointed to find that the Special of the Day wasn't available for online orders because the lasagna is absolutely amazing! Instead, we opted for some tasty pizza, but I still can't recommend the lasagna highly enough—it's a must-try!

Literally everything on the menu is amazing. I think the only reason this place doesn’t have a line around the block is that it’s on a noisy street with nothing much else to do nearby. But the food is some of the very best in Oakland and the servers are great.
Philomena Pizza is delicious! We ordered pizza for Oakland Soul SC players and staff. Philomena Pizza was very accommodating by providing two deliveries to ensure the pizza was warm for players after the game. Service was great.
I’m sure 90% of the time this place is great. But as an ex pizza maker and deliverer… idk how this made it out the door. I’m too broke to be getting burnt pizzas ?
I ordered a couple pizzas for takeout. The pizzas were tasty and the takeout window is super convenient! Parking: Plenty of parking is a HUGE perk!
