I visited this restaurant last month during a day out. It was quite crowded, which I initially took as a good sign. However, I was very wrong. The service was unfriendly, there was a long wait, and I had concerns about the hygiene practices (handling cash and food with the same hands, wiping nose while serving). The food was not great - it was greasy with soggy batter. Additionally, it was not cheap. Thankfully, I did not experience any negative health effects, but I will not be returning to this restaurant.
This is a traditional fish and chip restaurant. There are a few small tables at the front, but it is mainly for takeout food. Logan Reserve is just across the road and provides a great spot for dining. I ordered a grilled fish and a basic hamburger. Both were delicious. The burger had fresh salad and a substantial meat patty, while the fish was fresh and cooked well, though slightly smaller than what I am used to. The prices are very reasonable.
the New Year's Day was very hot and most food places were closed, but the pines were open. they had my compassion for the heat and the masses. the air conditioner wasn't there and coworkers and customers slept. I ordered a simple hamburger and a grilled flock. the fish was very delicious and well prepared, but the burger was a disappointment. the bungalow was damaged and the patty was a bit hard and little quality.
Threw my $20 order into the trash and went to Maccas. 2nd and last time ever. Asked for flounder on the bone but chef said not possible . Considering flounder never gets scaled they produced a large white fillet. Definitely NOT Flounder. It stunk and was...more Ling or some cheap bait fish. Worst Fish n Chips in Australia to my mind. Nothing terribly amazing, had a few excellent flake there over the years, regular fish and chips. I 'm not terribly exciting so I always get the flake and some steamed dimsims. I guess fish+chip shops arent the 'cheap cheap ' place anymore, but still quite fine.
bit ho hum. in altona it's better. the fish hit and miss them that there are good some weeks and not the best. must say the muted dim sims are pretty good. chair friendly. kid kind. pram and children's car accessible. appropriate parking space.
Started with the hamburger and it was excellent. One of the few places that still put bacon on a burger. The chips were also really good. Food was ready quick and not bad price. The hotdog in batter was ordinary but the rest was good.
I was glad to open the pines through the Easter. during the beach because of school holidays, so many caffes and restaurants were closed. the pines were open and I have a great piece of fish here. there was one too. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
I visited a basic fish and chip shop, and as they say, never buy fish if you can't see the sea! This place lived up to that standard, and the portion size was generous.
