The interior was rather dirty. I genuinely wanted to enjoy my visit, but the cleanliness problem was disappointing. I noticed bits of dried meat and dust on the counters, and the butcher was cutting meat on the same wooden surface. Unfortunately, I experienced stomach pain the day after eating the meat. I’ll rate it two stars, however, because the staff were very friendly.
I've been searching for an excellent sub in this area for a few years, having moved here from another part of New Jersey. At last, I've found one with soft bread, shredded salad, thinly sliced meats, and a perfectly balanced flavor. If that's what you're after, Pitney Italian Market is the place to go.
Dirty inside. I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately inside is dirty. Counters etc have scraps of dried meat and dust. Butcher was using this same wooden counter to cut meat on. Stomach was hurting the next day after we ate the meat too. Twostars because the employees where super nice.
