After a long walk along the bay from Brighton to P. Melbourne it was back to Yarraville and a try at the Pizza D'Asporto. The place was crowded on a Saturday night but after a leisurely 15 mins browsing in the adjacent bookshop we found a place by the oven: great table management and for-ever courteous. By the oven was all the better place to watch the production process that underpins these fabulous pizzas. While we waited for our two pizzas (one featuring leeks + gorgonzola, the other pumpkin and goats cheese - plenty here for vegetarians) we could see sacks of flour being combined with yeast, water and oil into the mixer, huge lumps of dough being deftly split up, weighed and rolled into...
Only one complaint.. This place is so busy it's impossible to get a seat.. Lol.. but they still fit us in!! Always!Amazing pizza, phenomenal home made pasta, Italian beer on tap, fantastic chianti.. and the service.. well, it doesn't get better than a beautiful family run authentic Italian joint.. with Captain Claudio, Antonietta and of course, young Anthony.. ready to make your experience special. Italian music accompanied by the beautiful Sophia Loren in the background.. all play their part in making this a fantastic dining experience every time.. but don't forget to ask for their own Limoncello to finish it all off..Bravo! As locals in Yarraville we took out visiting but that was our loss. The food was amazing and you can tell it's a family ran restaurant because everyone's attitude was amazing. It was so busy they were being slammed but the service was great. We enjoyed the aranchini balls and calamari with the wonderful pizza! The only improvement could be a more extensive wine list but what they had was great value!
Always great service and quick seating even when full - waiters were always open with wait times and how they can best accomodate. Great pizza base with fresh generous quantity of ingredients and punch of flavour. Not really into their location or decor in Yarraville - it's bit cold and plain but the rest well compensates. If you have been to the sister restaurant in Williamstown you will love this place. There is more seating and an expanded menu. The food is excellent and the wine list is very reasonably priced. It is located next to the Sun Theatre so an ideal place for pre and post theatre occasions.
Probably best pizza in Melbourne. The location in Yarraville is perfect for alfresco dining. Quality ingredients, simple, efficient service and delicious food. An italian experience just like Italy. The best thing is I don't have to drive to Williamstown now for pizza.
Delicious food - always!! Owners are super nice. Fantastic atmosphere. My favourite pizza place in the west. So excited they opened here as we were visiting the Willy one for years.

Pizza of choice in inner west. Wide range of pizzas including a tasty gluten-free. The customer service is also just as fantastic.
