I recently went to Cranford Playa Bowl, on August 1st, 2023 around 8:45pm and it was just horrible. I love playa bowl. The foods are great! BUT… the employees were so rude. I get it. You should be able to have a good time at work, but putting your conversation first and customers second is a no-go. The 3 female employees were really into their chitchat. And to top it off they had explicit music playing, Kanye and Rihanna. I attended with my family. Husband, and 3 kids (10 yr old, 6 yr old, and 1 yr old). It was so inappropriate. They took forever to get our order out. And because of the music I just wanted to get out of there. They really need to shape up.
Smoothie was good but I ordered it ahead to be ready at the time I needed it and when I got there, they hadn’t even started making my order but there was also no other customers. I was in a rush and was hoping to just quickly pick it up but they made sure to take as long as possible to make 2 smoothies that were supposed to be ready over 10 minutes before. I get that these are teenagers, but they’re at work and they were more interested in socializing amongst each other than working. I shouldn’t feel like a burden just for showing up and wanting my order. There really should be an older manager working alongside them at the store to hold them accountable.
I’ve been trying to give Playa Bowls the benefit of the doubt, but in the last month, I’ve been there at least 3x and my order has been wrong every single time. Specifically at this location. Very frustrating. There is no consistency with these bowls. It’s different every time. I would advise staff to be a little more welcoming and nice as well. Any time you tell them that the orders wrong, they have an attitude. Won’t be coming back to this location.
I ordered from this location 2 times and ordered the same thing BOTH times, yet BOTH times my order was wrong. I asked for no peanut butter instead honey because i am allergic when I eat it. HALF THE BOWL SEEMS TO BE PEANUT BUTTER. Both times I had to order for somewhere else and give this order to my brother since he’s able to eat it.added picture showing receipt and video showing how much peanut butter was in the bowl.
I can't say anything negative about this place. The food is amazing, the staff are friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is fun and clean. The place is very busy for a reason.Bowls are delicious.Expensive, but you get a huge portion — probably cause it wouldn’t make business sense to offer smaller portions.Hard working nice people work here.Great spot!I recommend getting the banana baby food as the base. It’s delicious!! ???

An amazing smoothie (bowl) and tropical shack. The workers are quick and fast, while the atmosphere is very cool! It’s AMAZINGLY delicious. Great area too! ?
The customer service was terrible , but this was one of the best bowls I’ve ever had, definitely worth the 15 min wait.
