I ordered food in the drive through at 9:06 pm. I thought I would get the food quickly because there were only 2-3 cars ahead of me. I waited in front of the window for at least 5 minutes before they told me to park in one of the waiting spots. I got a bag of food 25 minutes after I ordered. I assumed all the food was in the bag. I get home and there was a cheeseburger and 2 sides of gravy missing. I tried to call FIVE times and no answer. The system just hung up after so many rings. UPDATE: I called back the next day and got an answer and they took care of the issue. Looks like night shift has poor management. Daytime management is much better.
Cool atmosphere, good food, but the kitchen was terribly unorganized and took 30 minutes to fill our simple order (2 fries, 1 rings, large order of tenders). They knew our order got botched and that we'd been waiting a long time. No apology. It's a shame because the atmosphere is pretty cool (retro 50's diner).
I love the BAKED mostacolli with meatballs. Order the meatballs on the side so you get the full pasta order and that is a two meal serving! So good! Bread is good too...and if you have any room left ... chocolate cake is legendary! I usually do the drive through and the food is piping hot even when I get home.
There is a group of six guys that go to this Portillo's every week. The food is not nearly as good as it used to be. It seems like there is less beef on the beef sandwiches, and they charge more. First time from an out of Towner. I fully recommend not just the food, but the experience. Prices are high but what ain't now days. Being a fallout fan, it was right up my alley. Food was great for the non-calorie conscious like me. It's definitely something different.
