I really tried hard to like this place. I went there three times and can honestly say that I never left there completely satisfied with the meal. The restaurant is nice. Generally we've had good service and presentation of food. None of the dishes were so good that I would return. The first time we went there I went with my family (4 people total). We ordered two orders of the fresh bread. Each order comes with three pieces (and ones a thick corner slice) so for four people 2 is necessary. The bread is nothing special. The butter is really good and unique! We had the gnocchi, bbq octopus, chicken breast, and banger and mash. I think we had something else but can't remember what it was since...
Privada adds style, variety, and late night wine/dine to St Albert downtown. Don't let Privada's curb appeal fool you because everything changes when you walk in the door. The 44 seats are a mixture of regular tables, hightops and bar stool and the faux brick walls give it a warmth that reminds me of Montreal. Located right on the corner of Perron and St Anne at the heart of downtown it's surrounded by many other dining options but none can offer what they have. Every time I come to Privada, I know it's going to be a great night whether I'm coming in for a glass of wine with a girlfriend or a group dinner party. The menu is always changing and focuses on fresh, local, and sustainable goodness! Popped in yesterday during Rock'n August Nights to a completely full restaurant and patio. Luckily, I was meeting a girlfriend who had space saved at the bar. Bartender, George was quick to come up with a sour mojito for my request of bubbly and sour and it did not disappoint. I 've been in to Privada quite a few times in the last year (I actually thought I had reviewed them already) but recently I came in for dinner with 2 very important people: My retired Aunt and my Vegan cousin from Van.... Now, that 's when you actually see if a place is 5 stars; can it please everyone? Would we all love it? 100% YES!!! From the excellent service, phenomenal wine list, quaint patio, it was just amazing. And then there is the food... Chef Tony and his SO soux chef Chelsea rocks my culinary world!! Love this place! The staff are knowledgeable on all the wines, great with suggestions. Food is unique, not super big portions. The burnt butter is to die for! Definitely the kind of place to hang out with a couple girlfriends for the evening, great atmosphere
my wife and I went for a date night without children. this restaurant was exactly what we were looking for. I loved how the dishes were not dinge that they saw on most menus and everything was delicious! we're coming back!
