My first visit to this restaurant was a mixed experience. We ordered 2 iced mochas and shared a strawberry basil lemonade. Unfortunately, the mochas were a disappointment as the espresso and Nutella were not properly mixed, resulting in the Nutella sitting at the bottom of the cup. However, the strawberry basil lemonade was incredible! I'm usually not a fan of lemonade, but the strawberry basil flavor was delicious and refreshing. The basil was strong but not overpowering. The staff member who served us was friendly, and the cafe had a relaxed atmosphere. Overall, a hit and miss experience but worth a visit for the fantastic strawberry basil lemonade.
Every time I'm in the downriver area this is the place to come even if it's just to pick up a treat for later. The selection is always enticing and beautiful. It's difficult to pick just one or two things. The portions are large and the quality is outstanding. I have never been disappointed with any of my selections. The girls behind the counter are always cheerful and patience and willing to help make suggestions.
My wife really enjoys the kale Caesar salad, with its delicious garlic dressing that lingers all day. We also sampled the turkey basil sandwich and the Zeb corned beef sandwich, which was probably the best I've had in years. The fruit served as a refreshing side. The menu is simple but features excellent baked goods, and the staff is friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Definitely a hidden gem in Trenton.
Promenade catered the hors d'oeuvres for my daughters wedding. The hors d'oeuvres were not only delicious but the presentation was top notch. Everyone commented on the table and the specialness of each dish. Also, the staff setting up, were professional, quiet and efficient. I will be using them again. And again. And again. We have dined in at this restaurant and have also ordered their takeout meals multiple times. The food is consistently delicious and expertly prepared. They offer a wide selection of baked goods that are all excellent. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and attentive.
The owners of this establishment treat their workers with the kind of disrespect that can only be described as audacious considering they regularly steal tips from the service staff. And by the way, there is such a thing as too much garlic.
What a gem of a place. Fantastic pour over coffee, fresh baked scones that are delicious and moist, and egg sandwiches which are just outstanding. Great staff and welcoming interior. Best there is in downriver.
