While many can prepare soft tofu soup, few do it as well as Pyeong Chang Tofu House. I’ve tried making the soup at home and have visited several Korean restaurants, but none compare to this place. A truly exceptional Korean soft tofu soup features a rich and complex flavor with multiple layers, and here, the balance between the soup and tofu is spot on. The meat complements rather than overpowers the dish. Even the containers they use are top-notch—you’ll find your fingers still warm long after your meal. If parking were easier, I’d definitely visit more frequently.
The tofu soup is consistently a great option—it's both comforting and tasty. The reason I'm giving it 4 out of 5 stars is due to the inconsistency with the burnt rice. Some days it's just right and flavorful, while other times it's overcooked and they still serve it. Over the years, I've noticed the price of the tofu soup has increased as well. I remember when it was around $10 to $15, but now it's about $20.
Pyeong Chang Tofu House has a delightful atmosphere with its charming wooden tables and benches. You must try the kimchi pancakes—they're the crispiest I've ever had! If you're in the mood for something meatless, the mushroom soup is a fantastic choice. The cold soba noodles are simply amazing, and the fried chicken is also top-notch. Be sure to explore their menu for these delicious options!
The main dishes were authentic, but the number and quality of banchan (i.e., side dishes) were lacking. I'm not sure if it's conventional in the Bay Area, but the bill included a 20% service charge without any notice. There was also a space for an additional tip on the bill, which could have inadvertently led us to tip a total of 40%.

Dishes are all very good as before. Cosy seating with natural wood tables. Not clearly mentioned in the menu, but many come with rice and/or soup. Your server will ask for preferred spiciness of the soup (5 levels). Medium was too spicy for my middleschooler. Be sure to scrape baked rice left in the bowl it tastes great in soup?
Visited bay area and decided to hit up a soon tofu place. Had to street park and it seemed like a busy street. Menu: Four Banchan, good kimchi. Both spicy seafood tofu soup and biji soup were good. I loved their fully crisped rice too; they have anoption to pour hot tea over it, so definitely try that out.
This food is amazing. We ordered several dishes and shared bites across the table Each bite was delicious. We did struggle to get a server to come back and talk to us repeatedly. The dining area is spacious and well designed, and has a tendency to get loud. I highly recommend giving it a try!
The flavors and spices are exceptional. I ordered the spicy seafood tofu soup, and by the end, I was sweating profusely—in a good way! The service was thoughtful and attentive.

Love the tofu soup here! And amazing service. Portion sizes are great and with the sides you’re probably getting 2 meals worth.
The food here is fantastic, and the staff is excellent! Be sure to try the Bibimbap.
