Ramen Misoya Chicago

I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. I used to visit quite often when it first opened, but I've noticed a decline in quality and overall satisfaction. Prices have also risen, particularly for basic items like water and noodles, which feels unjustifiable. Paying $17 for a bowl of noodles, a bit of water, bean paste, and half an egg seems excessive to me. If you're looking for ramen in the city, I suggest trying Daifuku ramen, as there are much better options available now. The consistency and value here just don’t measure up anymore. Additionally, the flavors don’t blend well; I’ve been to other ramen shops where the savory notes hit perfectly, but this one seems to be lacking depth....

This is a fantastic spot for ramen in the area! The restaurant is quite cozy, so it's better suited for dining with one other person rather than a large group. There are a few tables that can accommodate four people, though. The karaage was a standout at 9/10—perfectly crunchy and juicy. The sauce reminded me of Chick-fil-A sauce, which was a fun surprise! We ordered the Hokkaido and Tokyo chashu ramen, priced at $19 each. The Hokkaido had a more pronounced miso flavor compared to the Tokyo version. The grilled chashu added a wonderful texture and taste. Plus, the portions are enormous! We couldn't finish everything and ended up taking leftovers home.

This was my first time trying ramen, and I really enjoyed it! The restaurant has the typical setup you'd find in a Japanese ramen place. I loved everything we ordered, including the shrimp tempura, oysters, and chicken appetizers. The ramen was fantastic, and I was pleased to see they offer a vegetarian broth option for those who prefer not to have pork broth. It's definitely a place worth visiting!

Overall, Ramen Misoya is quite good. They focus on Miso broths and offer plenty of customization options. The broth is flavorful and of decent quality, and the pork and toppings are enjoyable. However, the restaurant's interior can be a bit smoky, and the service could improve during peak hours. I would definitely come back if I'm in the area and in the mood for some ramen. I enjoyed the ramen here; the broth is rich and flavorful, and the toppings are great. I tried the house special, which was spicy, but I found it a bit salty for my taste. Next time, I'll go for the regular pork tonkotsu. The saltiness might have come from the miso. Overall, I’d rate the food, service, and atmosphere as 4 out of 5.

Best Ramen around. We happily drive to get food here. Super tasty broths and great customization. If you're looking for great tasting, homemade Ramen look no further! Takeout is packed individually so you can easily warm it and the noodles and other ingredients stay fresh until you eat. 5/5.
