This house renovated in a restaurant looks like a small classic diner with a twist in the décor and the food. Decorations put you in the mood for the peruvian food you are about to order. It was not busy at all when we went, and we were served by a really nice young girl who had impeccable timing calculations; she would come when we needed her, answer our questions, take our order, but also leave us enough time and not repeatedly come to our table. Made reservations here for my son's birthday,Though Secondo (the owner) doesn't speak much english (not even sure he speaks French) he does his best to try and communicate and his daughter speaks very good french to no problemo LOL We had a wonderful time, great food, great service. By the way, Secondo makes the best Whiskey Sour, we've been to Peru and had it there the first time, but his are definitely the best! This restaurant was perfect for what we were looking for last night. There was a dancing show at the local arts theatre and we found this restaurant a 5 minute walk away in beautiful downtown Aylmer. I have visited Peru and was excited to taste some Peruvian food again. This was better than anything I had there! The business is family owned and operated and they really care about their service and food and it shows. Great appetizers and wine and then my husband had the lamb while I had the breaded fish. We first visited Amazonas with people who had spent some years in Peru and who suggested choices from the menu. Encouraged by a satisfying experience, we returned several times. The meals felt like the good, home style food of another culinary tradition, not something we would be able to find elsewhere in the region. The atmosphere was pleasant, the service attentive with a light touch. Each visit was a pleasure and we are sure to keep Amazonas in mind when we are in the area.
The food is not too bad, overstress Yes, much too much! But what is really disturbing is watching the owner who's at the front. He should rest at home because he has very bad mood all the time, and treat the poor guys working for him really bad. It just makes the meal time unpleasant if you need to see his unfortunate face. Too bad for them because there are people who understand Spanish and understand what he says. The lady is sweet.
So you know, when they say, not judge a book through his cover... the restaurant can not have much Pazaze from outside, but the food is fantastic. We had empanadas, ceviche and slightly fried seafood. Everything was so delicious. We will definitely go back and recommend as many people as we can. Don't hesitate, you won't be disappointed.
This restaurant is in an unasuming location along Eardley, away from the main strip of restaurants in Aylmer. You could easily miss it if you weren't looking for it, despite the signs. But if you want some delicious ceviche in the Ottawa-Gatineau region, be sure to make a trip here. You won't be disappointed.
Food was excellent. Very cute little place. Service was very friendly. The Pineapple and Mix juice was the best we have ever had. Very fresh. Food was very flavourful. Not spicy enough. Will definitely return. A must go. And don't judge that its a little house in the middle of pretty much nowhere.
We love this place. Simple takeover of this time of Ceviche, Empanadas and Reis, for the birthday of my elder. The ceviche and empanadas are the dreams. Thank you for the years of great food!
