Restaurant le Grand Chene

We only live down the road in our holiday home and wish we had visited years ago. The menu gastronomique effectively has five courses and none are skimped. Even our orange wine aperitifs came with 6 small pics of courgette flan. 12 snails starter with red wine sauce was amazing, my foie gras and fricassee de mer were stunning and the other half's rossini was superlative. The palate cleanser of eau de vie with lychees really hit the spot. Cheeses were local and generously served and even the honey with my faisselle had a strand of saffron in it while other half's ile flottante was faultless. With coffees and 2 carafes of rose, 100€ on the nail. Brilliant value for a huge lunch. We'll be back....

We have visited this restaurant many times and our latest visit coincided with the French Fete des Meres with a set menu specially created for the day. Whilst we always enjoy the set menus they offer here this menu was wonderful and was enjoyed by all the members of our party. I particularly liked the brochette de poissons which included scallops, smoked haddock, salmon and sea bass I hope they add this to their general menu. The assiette gourmande, which included a selection of delicious small puddings, was also a lovely treat. The service was spot on, despite the restaurant being extremely busy, and Jeff and his team did us proud. I would happily recommend this restaurant for its delicious...

Went for a meal whilst staying in the area. Really lovely meal which was perfectly cooked and friendly service despite our lack of the french language! Thank you

They serve good food in a very nice setting. It is very rural and has good views of the country side.
