My husband and I went to Kay 's for dinner last night. NO STAFF MEMBERS WERE WEARING MASKS!! Kitchen staff wasn 't wearing masks as well. I asked our waitress why and she replied that they had all been told it was up to them and that if we didn 't like it we could leave. I replied that since the staff didn 't care about the customers health that we would leave. I think she replied good riddance. Of course, we left. The restaurant is not very clean and the smell is less than pleasant meaning no good food smells. DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!
My husband ordered the ribs, and I had the brisket. Unfortunately, both were extremely dry and tough. The beans that accompanied the brisket were acceptable, but the coleslaw was quite disappointing — not sure what happened there. On the bright side, the garlic toast that came with it was good. We also ordered hush puppies, which were very hot on the outside but cold in the middle. Our server was friendly and did an excellent job. I only wish the food had lived up to expectations.
We went to Kays BBQ and it was great! The servers are wearing masks, and are friendly and efficient. The food is great- Very good BBQ (love the ribs- juicy but not overcooked and you have got to try the smoked wings. And sides were good. They have a wide variety so I can stay on Keto easily here and not feel deprived. My husband enjoys the BBQ beans and slaw. They have a good breakfast too with homemade biscuits. Give it a try.
Salads were wilted and made my daughter sick hours later. Service was cold and unfriendly. Hostess was grumpy in demeanor and speech. We were there for lunch on a weekday. Drinks were never refilled and it wasn't because they were busy. It was like you entered another zone, it seemed like the employees were mentally spaced out. The prices are fantastic, the waitstaff is attentive, and the restrooms are clean. The Brunswick stew is the best I've ever had, and the fried catfish was excellent, alongside the okra. My husband ordered the pulled pork with coleslaw and fries, which were an unusual take as they looked like chips! We both got our entrees with two sides; mine also included hushpuppies. Don’t miss out on this place!
Kay's is definitely not a fancy barbecue spot, but the food is quite decent. We tried the burgers and they were really good. The fries were nice and crispy without being overcooked. Our server was friendly and attentive. The prices were very reasonable. I would definitely recommend it for a nice lunch.
We were satisfied with what we got and with the service we had. Had ribs and smoked turkeys and both were good portions. BBQ beans were particularly delicious. Both dishes came quite delicious with two large slices of garlic toast. I have a drink to go and it was HUGE! Would go back there.

I never did understand why anyone would call it a sandwich, when the ribs are bone-in, but it was tasty. So was the wonder bread.
