The service was fantastic, staff were friendly welcoming, and kindly talked us through the process and explained each meal in detail. The food itself was absolutely amazing. My first 1 star review for a restaurant, certainly didn’t expect it to be Salt. A brief look through the reviews and you'll see a common theme of utterly shocking customer service when it comes to cancellations. We had to cancel due to illness with short notice at which point Salt told us they would take the cancellation fee off the voucher we had. Which I completely understand. They then refused the option they themselves wanted and proceeded to charge our credit card. They are now refusing to take the fee off the voucher. We had a similar late cancellation situation at The Cross in Kenilworth, we were fully expecting and prepared to pay the fee when they offered to rebook us at no charge....
I was called here for an interview by “Aurelien” which I attended. I was then asked to do a trial shift for over 3 hours. Then he rang the next day and said he hadn’t made his mind up come for a 2nd trial shift also over 3 hours on Saturday which I did on short notice. The main thing was glass polishing and cleaning which I did everything I was supposed to. He said he’d email that night. For the next 4 days I waited in false hope and even rang over 20 times the next day they were open but they didn’t pick up once. My husband booked this restaurant for my birthday celebration. The staff were super friendly but there was a lady who was cleaning the bar at the front with a sprayer while we were eating our dinner. I found this very unprofessional and disturbing. Food was good but non of the dishes were surprising! I must say that I was very disappointed with my dessert. Do not go to this restaurant as they keep your credit card information and charge it without your consent. Service rating is 1 out of 5, atmosphere is also 1 out of 5. The meal costs over £100 per person and it is recommended to avoid. It is difficult to find parking around the restaurant, with only paid street parking available. The only redeeming factor is the Sunday Roast dish.
