Perhaps the food is not the most ambitious on Salt Spring, but we found ourselves coming back here because it just seemed to be more relaxed and more reliable than anywhere else. On each occasion with different servers, the welcome was always friendly and attentive, even when the place was packed. There is a lot of space between the tables - which gives it a different feel from most of the other restaurants in Ganges, which tend to be very cramped and crowded. This restaurant is located right in the heart of Ganges Harbour so if you sit outside you will hear all the noises of the harbour in summer. We have been here before and expected it. You can also sit inside where it's more dark and cool, more quiet. We sat on the deck but there were lots of umbrellas to shade us from the heat. The staff were ready with other umbrellas for the patrons that wanted one. The menu here has lots of selection from seafood, pizza, burgers, steaks vegetarian, gluten free, kids are welcome and they have lots to choose from as well. The crab cakes and nachos are amazing. We will return and look forward to it.
Have stopped by for lunch and dinner at this historic Inn overlooking Ganges harbour, but the breakfast was amazing as well!The omelettes were great and the coffee did the trick!We were so happy that they had a big screen tv so we could watch Roger Federer's winning performance at WimbledonThanks for the wonderful hospitality!
The food was delicious. Service excellent. Friendly and attentive staff. Only downfall was it was very noisy. We ate there twice. Lunch outside was a much nicer atmosphere due to noise level inside. beautifully located, nice terrace with sea view and in the inner cozy. nicer, slower service. pizza, burger, lachs, pasta, salad, good kitchen, large portions, good value for money. also recommended for living. a bit at the edge of the site and yet only a few steps into the center.
I went with friends for a Sunday lunch but discovered all they had was a limited brunch menu on Sundays. I was not impressed with the food and the acoustics are so bad we could hardly hear what we were saying to each other. It's popular with groups which adds to the noise level.
Enjoyed a really fine dinner; the seafood pasta is great. Good selection of craft beer, nice patio, perhaps jus a bit noisy inside. Wait staff very friendly and attentative. A bit on the expensive side but that is true of most pkaces on the coast and especially the Gulf islands.
