I recommend asking to mix the malaysian peanut red thai chilli sauces, it tasted very nice and wasn?t spicy. I got a large tofu with fresh egg noodles. What would make this better is it they gave slightly less noodle and slightly more vegetables. With the amount of noodles they gave, I couldn?t finish it on my own. Note that it takes about 10 minutes to prepare as they make it fresh and get many orders, but it?s nice and hot when it does come. I thought that paying $4 to get more vegetables is a bit much, I probably would have done it for $2 extra though. I also had the taro bubble tea and recommend the taste. The food here is not only delicious but also fresh, prepared quickly with top-quality ingredients. The portion sizes and prices provide excellent value for your money. The service is efficient, and there are plenty of seating options available, both in front of the restaurant and in the nearby park, where you can savor your meal. This restaurant is the closest you can get to city food on this island, where everyone genuinely competes based on the quality of their dishes, rather than adhering to the random standards that Salt Spring tends to prioritize over simply making your meal enjoyable. This restaurant is a delightful family-run gem. In a city where dining out can often be pricey, this spot provides fantastic value. They offer three vegan sauces for their stir-fry dishes: pad thai, sweet teriyaki, and yellow curry. While the other sauces contain fish or shrimp, vegans can choose between rice noodles or coconut rice. I opted for the pad thai with rice noodles, while my partner enjoyed the yellow curry with rice. Both dishes were bursting with flavor, and the portions were very generous. It’s an excellent choice for a satisfying meal. We left feeling full and happy with our decision. They also have bubble tea, but unfortunately, it contains milk.
Food was great and clean/healthy and the owners also went above and beyond with service. We were visiting the island and weren't aware that the community doesn't have any options for late night eats. Everything was closed, however the owners here were inprocess of locking up and upon seeing us hungry fired up the kitchen after everything had been cleaned and put away for theevening. Great location to grab a quick bite while on the island and ownership/service that is hard to find elsewhere.
The food at this restaurant is truly delicious, and the prices are quite reasonable. It’s especially accommodating for vegans and vegetarians, with gluten-free options as well! The couple who owns the place is incredibly friendly. I would definitely love to dine here again. It appears that most of the customers are regulars!
The portion sizes are relatively small compared to the prices. Although you can add prawns for an extra $4, you only get around four shrimp. This restaurant is an excellent choice for Thai cuisine, with a wide variety of vegan options! Everything is clearly labeled, and there are gluten-free selections available too. We sampled the teriyaki and yellow curry, both of which were incredibly tasty.
