Beautiful small intake / dining room for fish and chips, which is a keliac club approved facility, with a whole separate area of the kitchen where gluten-free products are produced. The food is great, and Cathy is wonderful. We will stop at this place every time we visit Oshawa. One of us was a symptomatic celiac disease and the food there is safe. They even go to the separation of condiment bottles and salt and pepper shakers to prevent cross-contamination at the table. Parking: It is located in a small place with a decent large common parking lot. Nutrition restrictions: Celiac safe, gluten-free options.
Had the haddock and chips, with tartar sauce and coleslaw. The haddock piece was gigantic and very filling, but one end of the fish was just batter with no fish in it. The fries were very soggy but tasted great. The coleslaw didn't look very appetizing but it was actually good in taste, it looked like the cabbage was all grinded/mashed up. The tartar sauce was excellent too. The restaurant, although I did takeout, was very clean and the staff seemed friendly. Overall I will eat here again but it wasn't a perfect five stars.
We ordered 12 dozen gluten-free donuts for Sierra's graduation celebration. Since Sierra has celiac disease, her favorite spot for gluten-free treats is Schooners Fish and Chips. As always, she loved the donuts and gave them a thumbs up! I want to thank all the staff for their effort in making them look so beautiful!
I was thrilled to enjoy fish and chips for the first time in years after going gluten-free! They were absolutely delicious and reheated perfectly in the air fryer since I couldn't eat them right away. The gluten-free cinnamon donuts were also delicious! This is the only gluten-free fish and chip restaurant I've encountered! The haddock was fantastic, but I found the fries to be a bit on the oily side. The flavor was excellent, and I couldn't even tell that the dish was gluten-free.
