Wanted to try Scotch Lodge a couple of years ago, then COVID hit and shuttered all bars. Thankfully the Lodge survived, and appears to be thriving, and for good reason. This is a very comfortable space, that puts you at ease. The staff is welcoming and our bartender had an impressive knowledge of their whisky selection with none of the MWL “library” air of pretension and membership exclusivity. A great place for friends to have a conversation, and equally intimate for a date night drink. Might suggest a reservation since the word is out about this place. We stopped in @5pm on a weekend without one, and were lucky enough to get a seat at the bar. I've been collecting whisky during my biz trip...
5/5, we had a phenomenal time at the Scotch Lodge. I've been to many whiskey bars across the US and this is easily one of my favorites. The bartenders were knowledgeable and unpretentious which is such a nice experience. The selection was large, of course, but I was floored by the overall fair prices. Whiskey can be expensive, but there's a difference between fair and expensive and ridiculously overpriced. Scotch Lodge hit the sweet spot. The food we ordered was also delicious, I was not expecting the pickle fries to be so great. Would make a trip to Portland specifically to return.
The food was excellent! Highly recommend the fried Brie! The cocktails were good. Only one or two were fantastic, but they all were pretty interesting. Huge selection of alcohol and a good selection of cocktails.We were there for two hours (2 people). The bartenders were awesome and felt like the drinks came in a timely manner. The food service felt a bit slow. We usually have meals in under an hour if the timing works out. We had three drinks each and three shared plates. Plus dessert.Would definitely like to return.

Wow, What a cool place this is, the bar has more whiskey (Whisky) than I have seen. the menu was excellent and the service friendly and fast. The place kind of has a speakeasy feel, as the door has no sign on it and you go downstairs to see it open into a large dark wood paneled room. I definitely felt welcome and was absolutely Wowed by the selection. I had the Scallops Tartare and the Soft-shell crab sandwich, which did not disappoint. Don 't miss this place when in Portland!!
Went with my wife for date night. Bar has a cool speak easy feel. You could walk past it on the street, but once your down in the basement bar, you'll be glad you didn't! Selection of spirits is great, food is tasty more sharing and nibbling than full on entres, cocktails are creative and fun. Has a focus on Scotch, but has plenty of other spirit based cocktails and spirits on hand for the non scotch drinkers.
We came here for a late night date after a Blazers game. We managed to make it in before the dinner menu service shut down. We had lovely cocktails and the scallop tartare from the dinner menu plus oysters and pickle fries. It was all good and prices seemed more than reasonable for the creativity and level of quality.

Stopped in for a cocktail after dinner elsewhere nearby. Next time we'll come here for food! It smelled great and the options looked delicious. The cocktails are thoughtfully curated and absolutely delicious. And not just scotch on the menu, which was good for me!
