I have had meals here many times since they opened, both at the restaurant and as takeout. It is great to see that they are getting busy (but not too busy) as more people discover this great place. When you dine at the restaurant, a bowl of tasty soup is included with the meal. Delicious plantains, peas and rice, and crunchy coleslaw accompany the main dishes. Plantains and coleslaw also come with the giant rotis. We have tried jerk boneless chicken, jerk bbq chicken, curry shrimp, and jerk roti. All delicious. I've eaten a lot of Jamaican food and Scotthill is by far one of the best restaurants serving Jamaica food! It's not just the food, but it's the ambiance and service that makes it a great spot. There's live music on Friday and Saturday evenings. Try it out. You won't be disappointed and I'm sure you'll make it one of your regular spots for Caribbean cuisine. PS - There's a drink called "The Scotthill Special"....it tastes just like Jamaica with a hint of coconut, fruit juices and of course, rum! Thank you Scotthill! I'll be back!
eating is delicious, even my little children love eating. every meal was not disappointed. the service is courteous, but grab their patience-we waited an incredibly long time for our eating, and our drinks for this occasion. they are underoccupied, and the kitchen seems to be a lot of take-out orders, so we stayed there for a long time. Despite waiting, would go back, but not for one. we were a couple of times and always waiting to eat, but this time was a little ridiculous.
Starting out with the complimentary soup is a nice touch, it gives you a taste of what's about to come. flavour, spice and deliciousness! The food was decent but the portions were awful. I got the dinner platter and it was JUST enough for 3 people. They gave the tiniest portion of coleslaw (1 small serving and maybe 8 pieces of plantain (2 small pieces each? . Again food was good but not worth buying the platter.
Wonderful relaxed atmosphere and friendly service, very tasty food and generous portions. We tried the oxtail, jerk chicken and saltfish with ackee, all perfectly cooked and spiced. Had to take dessert home- some pleasantly boozy rum cake hit the spot a couple of hours later.
