I placed a food order on May 30th, and to my dismay, I ended up injuring my tooth trying to chew what I initially thought was hard rice. When I spat it out, I realized it was actually bits of black plastic. There were several small and larger pieces mixed in with my rice and on my chicken, as shown in the picture. While I understand that accidents can happen, I can't shake the concern about what could have occurred if I had served this food to a toddler. This experience has seriously made me question the cleanliness of their food preparation practices. Additionally, my order was incorrect. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning to this restaurant.
My favorite shawarma spot in Guelph! The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. The quality of the chicken is exceptional, cooked to perfect tenderness. I highly recommend this place; I think it surpasses Shawarma G. The only adjustment I would make is to the hot sauce—I'd prefer it to be spicier or to have options for different spice levels since their sauce is more akin to a spicy mayo. I ordered the chicken shawarma served over fries. While the chicken was acceptable, the fries were lackluster, being pale and doughy. The garlic sauce had an unusual sweetness, almost as if it was made with sweetened condensed milk, which didn't sit well with me. As a shawarma enthusiast who has sampled many places, I can confidently say this was the worst experience I've had. CT Shawarma is much better. On the bright side, the service was good.
Today, I had a disappointing experience with an employee named Honey. I ordered a chicken shawarma plate, and while he was serving the chicken, some of it fell onto the table. Despite this, he proceeded to place that same chicken onto my plate. When I pointed this out, he argued that the surface was clean and that it was okay to eat. Due to the poor service and the unsanitary handling of food, I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone.
