I've been to Benihana and other tepanyaki restaurants previously. This was my first time at Shogun and I really enjoyed our dinner celebration with my family there. We went with kids and the staff were all very friendly and they gave superb customerservice. The chef who cooked in front of us was entertaining and fun. We all ordered different dishes but I would highlyrecommend their lobster and ribeye steak. I ordered calamari as an add on and it was also delicious. They did not over salt orover cook the food. Sushi is always a great choice! This was my first time at this charming and elegant restaurant in San Dimas, and the experience was fantastic from the moment we arrived. The exterior doesn’t reflect the stunning interior. Although we came for lunch, I decided to order from the regular menu and was absolutely pleased. I sampled the half-roll trio: Crunch Dragon Roll, Salsa Ceviche Roll, and BSC Roll—each one packed with incredible flavor. For dessert, the buttercake was equally delicious. The service was outstanding, with a special shoutout to Nathaniel for his attentive care. I highly recommend Shogun to everyone!
Never been here before and really wanted to try this place out for a long time. However, attempting to try this place via takeout was a real an inconvenience. Really wish I can give a review based of their food, but this one star is earned due tothe difficulty of getting their food via take out! I had called in several times over a span of 1hr to place an order, and noone picks up the phone! I then drive to the place, and attemp to place a take out order at the restaurant. I am told the waitfor food is 1hr... Not a pleasant experience. Really need to focus on their takeout services.
I typically dine in the bar area on my lunch break from time to time since I work less than a mile away . I came today after work to have dinner with my bf in the bar area again and felt like the bar tenders definitely lack service at the table top bar areas . It’s understandable that it gets a little busier around the evening but it shouldn’t take 15-30 for a bar tender to check up on his tables . Still enjoy coming here but they need to definitely step up the service ..

We love picking up our father and going to eat at the Shogun Restaurant in La Verne. He always gets a kick out of watching them cook the delicious food. The shrimp, filet mignon, fried rice are my personal favorites. The cooks make everyone feel welcomeand we all have a good time. Recommend this place for dates, family and friend gatherings.
The experience was fantastic. Each dish was fresh, artfully presented, and full of flavor. The staff were polite and efficient, and the atmosphere was delightful. I highly recommend the rainbow ice cream for dessert! Although a bit pricey, the large portions make it worth it. We had no wait on a Tuesday evening.
I really don’t like to write negative reviews, but they earned it today. We waited for an hour when they had promised just 15 minutes. They ended up giving away our table! They then told us it would be another 30 minutes.
