During my visit to town, I decided to check out this restaurant after hearing great things. My husband often teases me about my love for soul food whenever we travel. Thankfully, this spot was conveniently located near our hotel. I ordered lunch and went for the fried wings, mac and cheese, and candied yams. The wings were wonderfully seasoned and fried to perfection, just as I requested. The yams were sweet, which I personally enjoyed, though others might find them a bit too sugary. The food at this restaurant was truly outstanding! I would rate it a perfect 10 out of 10. The portion sizes were ample and well worth the cost. While I recommend getting takeout, dining in is also available. The seating area is somewhat tight, and there is no waitstaff, but aside from that, everything was excellent. Make sure to try the UPTOWN drink and the cornbread – you'll definitely enjoy them. The parking situation can be a bit tricky since it's in an unusual location, but we were able to find a spot without too much trouble.
I drove 30 minutes from Easton PA to Stroudsburg PA, looking for a semi decent soulfood place because, unfortunately, there aren't any good places to get that southern home cooking until I found this gem of a place. The food at this restaurant is exceptionally delicious, served hot, and absolutely worth every penny. After a long search for a spot with flavorful dishes, I’ve finally discovered it. We tried several items from the menu, and some of our top picks were the mac and cheese, cornbread, chicken, and candied yams.
The food is so over priced it’s laughable. Oxtails are disgusting. Why is a 6pc platter of wings almost $30 that’s just robbery. The food isn’t worth the price, not to mention the platters don’t even come with sides. Sides are $5+ each on a already overpriced dish
I ordered the turkey chop dinner, which was covered in gravy, with Mac and cheese and yams as the sides. The meal was incredibly tasty and full of flavor. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. I am grateful for the experience.
