Starry Hong Kong Cafe appears to be one of the first Hong Kong-style eateries on Clarendon, and possibly in South Melbourne. The ambiance strongly reflects the 80s-90s Hong Kong vibe. We spent about $90 at the table, but the food quality was inconsistent. The satay beef noodles were decent, though the toast served alongside was only half buttered. The pepper honey soy beef with potato stood out with excellent wok hei; the beef was tender and well-prepared, and the potatoes had a satisfying crispiness.
